So can anyone else not see who's giving them rep anymore?
So can anyone else not see who's giving them rep anymore?
Same.Quoting TGM (view post)
Huh? I can the same list as always under "settings."
Yeah, I can still see the page, and I can see what post got rep, and any comments for it. But it won't show me who actually gave the rep anymore. :\Quoting Irish (view post)
Anybody been to Philadelphia?
Looking recommendations. I'm going to see the Broncos in a few weeks over a 4-day weekend, and lurk around on Saturday/Friday.
The best place to stay in Philadelphia is just outside the city and called "New York." Go to the station, hop on Amtrak, and in 90 minutes you'll be in Manhattan.Quoting Ezee E (view post)

(It's true though)
OMG Irish is right. I went to visit Philly when I was applying to colleges, and the city made very little impression on me. Felt like I was going to die there.
Looking forward to Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, eating way too many Cheesesteak sandwiches, and seeing the LINC.
Plus, I get to check off Pennsylvania.
Neighbor asked if I wanted some thrift store film cans. Sure. Assumed they were empty. Apparently its some old western movie. Terrified that I may hold some classic cinema gem that someone wants to remaster and I don't know what it is or who to get in contact with.
Any labels on the tins, Skitch? Did you look at any of the frames?
Theres some writing on the label on top left one, but I can't make out what it says. I'm going to go over everything with a microscope.
Hard to make out but looks like "Magnificent Andersons"?
Ambersoms?
Here's hoping you have most of the missing scenes from Welles's desired cut. (You don't.)
I've figured out some words on one can. It says "Kidnapped by Indians".Quoting Irish (view post)
Wait. How do we know this isn't some sort of "Ringu" or "It Follows" kind of deal?
Maybe the canisters are cursed and your buddy passed them onto you to free himself.
Took some pics of the first couple frames of each reel.Quoting Irish (view post)
P.S. - You're cursed now.
Thanks a fucking lot!Quoting Skitch (view post)
This has to be some silent film serial, right? Looks old as hell. More and more liking that I have these...
"Kidnapped by Indians" is a 1914 silent film, dude. That's pretty amazing.Quoting Skitch (view post)
Brief entry in "A Guide to Silent Westerns."
You need to get that appraised. There's no video of it anywhere online, and all I'm finding are IMDB credits. More as I'm finding it: it's a one-reeler produced by a company called the Kalem Company, and it looks like they were in the business of producing hundreds of one- and two-reelers.
I don't remember where you live, but somewhere like USC or UCLA film schools would be a good starting place. That's the type of restoration project I'll see somewhere like AFI.

I've thought of these things as soon as I realized what it may be. I've already contacted the film preservation society.
I'm kinda freaking out that I may have a 103 year old film in my possession. As a collector I'd love to keep it here, but if this is something the FPS would like I'll happily donate it. Fuck me, even being able to say I donated a film to such a thing is like the most insane film dork cool thing ever.
Silent actress Mona Darkfeather (white woman) most likely confirmed.
