Can't remember who the Howard Stern fans are, or in what thread we talked about him, but the NY Times has a profile this week:

    That would be me.

And hearing Howard talk about this was hilarious. He hates the way he looks so much- so when the times asked to take a picture of him, he demanded the photographer stand on a box, and shoot him from the right side (his good side)

But this article is EXACTLY what was I trying to explain before- how he's changed over the years and how his show is much more than strippers and porn stars from the E show.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I was a fan until he left earth. I can't justify paying for radio when I have so many podcasts to listen to. Like all talkers, he can be annoying at times, wrong at times, a fucking idiot at times, really damn funny at times...but who isn't? I get annoyed when people stop listening to a podcast after a comment or two they disagree with. You're never going to agree with anyone ALL the time. If one of my shows is bugging me, I just switch to another. But I get it, his abrasiveness can be a deal breaker for many (and thats okay too).

I do miss him occasionally, and I would still listen if I could.

Here's an actual conversation between The Verge and Werner Herzog. Read it in his voice for maximum effect.

Do you know about Pokémon Go?

    No.

    It's this...

I don't know what Pokémon Go is and what all these things are...

    It's a...

You're talking to somebody who made his first phone call at age 17. You're talking to someone who doesn't have a cell phone, for example, for cultural reasons.

    Right.

Tell me about Pokémon Go. What is happening on Pokémon Go?

It's basically the first mainstream augmented reality program. It's a game where the entire world is mapped and you walk around with the GPS on your phone. You walk around in the real world and can catch these little monsters and collect them. And everybody is playing it.

Does it tell you you're here at San Vicente, close to Sunset Boulevard?

Yeah, it's basically like a Google map.

But what does pokémon do at this corner here?

You might be able to catch some. It's all completely virtual. It's very simple, but it's also an overlay of physically based information that now exists on top of the real world.

When two persons in search of a pokémon clash at the corner of Sunset and San Vicente is there violence? Is there murder?

    They do fight, virtually.

    Physically, do they fight?

    No—

Do they bite each other's hands? Do they punch each other?

    The people or the...

Yes, there must be real people if it's a real encounter with someone else.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

Herzog is a liar. I've seen that man on a cell phone and he broke away to say hello to me.

Watching Predator, and this hip firing bullshit is annoying the Hell out of me.

EDIT: With the exception of Jesse Ventura and his minigun, 'cause that's what you'd have to do. Nothing says spray and pray like a belt fed weapon.

Donald Trump is the Canada goose of people. He's always honking at you, he shits on everything, and he's just generally aggressive when he doesn't need to be.

The Bush administration was embarrassing and awful in so many ways, but the Trump candidacy is where I'm most ashamed to say I'm an American.

Trump has me frightened for the entire world.

So in brighter news, I'm happy to report that I've survived another film screening! The guys who ran the local film fest last time invited me back for another show tonight, where this time they screened Dream Girl. A bigger turnout than last time, too, so cool deal!

K-pop scene question for Stay Puft and any others... are Wonder Girls's reggae-inflected "Why so Lonely" or Black Pink's "Boombayah" the best of this year so far, or am I missing out on particularly interesting tracks?

CL is putting something out today, but this year just seems more "eh" than the last couple...

    Congrats dude!

In related news, I'm in the process of talking to one of my best friends who's a producer, and we're setting up a preliminary budget for a short film I'm directing next year! This being the first thing I've directed since college, I'm both anxious and excited at once.
