In the back of an ambulance heading to the hospital. Cut myself quite badly at work.

I've never seen blood spray before. It was gross.

Good luck. Hope shock doesn't set in too much. Feel better soon and post pics of the stitches.

Oh, and of course, sorry to hear it!

I felt woozy and started sweating profusely about 5 minutes after it happened. That lasted about 5 minutes then I was fine.

Cut is about 10cm long, and freaking 3cm deep.

    Man, box cutters are brutal.

The muscle tissue is clearly visible. Gonna need about 8 stitches.

It's not very comforting when the doctor stitching you up stops and says "oh my..."

Yikes, Meg. I still shudder when I think of the ceramic tiles that busted your finger open.

    Dangerous job.

Holy shit I got the job.
    Awesome.

Waiting to hear back about a job in what seems like a cool place myself. Been a dark few months, so would be nice for it to work out.

...a bunch of people at work want my job. They sent out a memo saying the position was opening up and, like, five people have called/dropped by/e-mailed asking what it entails. It's actually one of the better positions here at work (fairly independent, manager is not one of the more difficult managers) so I can see why it might be attractive for someone who is already here.

Have pics of the cleaned and stitched wound, as well as some pics during stitching.

    The latter are quite bloody.

Should I post? I could put them in spoilers tags for those who are squeamish.

Spoiler tags! That way I can assure myself that I won't look at them. And then I will stare at the tags for like three minutes and then "just peek" and then be like "WHY DID I DO THAT?"

    It's my process.

    Workplace hand wound pics ahead!!

    []

The second-to-last image shows some of the spray in the floor which occurred during the cleaning and stitching.

The last photo shows it today, after I cleaned it all up.

How were you typing your posts yesterday? Or today, for that matter? I can barely type with both hands in functioning condition.

I just always say the baby looks so cute it's upsetting. Like, it makes me angry. People always like that, and I get to vent my frustration, albeit obliquely.

Oh it hasn't impeded the function of my hand much at all. And yesterday I was typing one-handed on my phone.

I can't stress enough how much it was gushing blood. I actually thought I was going to die. The doctor said it nicked an artery, and if I hadn't been taken care of so fast by my co-workers, I actually could have gone into shock and bled out. Freaking scary.

But what I was getting at is, while they were cleaning and stitching it, I just couldn't look at it any more. So I had my phone out posting and texting to keep my mind off it.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

    "Rick...it's a flamethrower."
