Thanks, guys. I'm really doing better today (especially considering I was kept up most of the night by Valentine's Day Revelers*) but I'm taking yesterday as a wake-up call and getting some help. I know I'll be better for it.

Day 2 in I Can't Get Mental Health Care: Some progress. I figured out how, theoretically, to get some visits authorized. However, I have to deal with a contractor that my insurance uses for mental health, and their website is BANANAS.

I'm blaming everything that goes wrong today (and maybe for the next few days) on the meteor.

Another one of these was stuck to my monitor. Yes it's my handwriting. I have no idea what it means.

It's a song, in 7/4 time. 661 measures of silence. Some pretty cerebral shit there, yo!

The 7/4 is definitely a time signature. The | | are probably supposed to be bars/measures. 661, circled, arrow, I have no idea.

So I've gotten into some hot water at work having not taken the next step on a number of projects that I agreed to months ago. Lots of reasons for that but the majority issue is my debilitating tendency toward procrastination and my almost complete lack of self-motivation or follow-through. One of the people who is not happy about it said this to me yesterday: "Nobody likes to work with a gun to their head."

Metaphorically speaking, of course, am I the only one to whom this does not apply? That is how I prefer to work. As soon as any of these people told me to get my shit together, that's when I hit next-level efficiency. If they had told me earlier, it would have been done earlier. I just needed the deadline. But if you don't give me a deadline and just expect me to get it done at whatever pace I prefer, then I will find it nearly impossible to complete the task until it's due in 2 minutes.

It is obviously mathematical, and the answer is 1156 and 3/4.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Amber, I wouldn't say I prefer that method, but I don't mind it. Thing is, I don't think anyone prefers to manage people that way. At least at the professional level.

I don't like a gun to my head, but I appreciate a deadline. Things without deadlines have a difficult time being priorities for me.

I have never experienced a job without constant deadlines. Without them would always seem to breed inefficiency and procrastination.

I prefer to work with a 60 seconds deadline while having a gun to my head and someone performing fellatio on me at the same time.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

    Question of the night:

When you first started having sex, did your parents know? If they did, did they approach you and want to have a conversation about it?

Corollary: Do you randomly tell your parents you love them?

    Curious what your experience is.

Aw, c'mon. Nobody wants to talk about their home life and teenage sex lives?

Don't leave me hanging out here with nothing but empty air and a pot of burned lentils!

No. We have pretty good sex ed here in DK, so it would'nt have been necessary, but it would've been awkwaaaaaaard.

No, I can't even remember if I ever said it to them ever.
