I never even bothered to try and watch The Sopranos, because I have met me.
it's similar to mad men, but with lots of cursing and violence. also, mad men is better.

i love the sopranos, deadwood, twin peaks, breaking bad, mad men, angel, buffy and the wire and think you guys are all crazy.

I think I'm supposed to be meeting up with Nick and Boner now. I will tell them that I got held up because Melville was posting nonsense.
Say hi to boner for me.
    Sure why not?

Breaking Bad, The Shield, and The Sopranos are some of the greatest television shows EVAR. Buffy and Angel were good fun.

I have yet to see The Wire, but it's on my list.

This is exclusively for those of you who bowed out of Mad Men early. It is a scene that really exemplifies the sense of humor of the latter seasons. Just watch it.

This is not for those of you who have Mad Men on the to-watch list. Because you'll want to see it in context. Really.

I'm through two seasons of Breaking Bad and I'm not sure I care much for it. The end of season two was ridiculously groan-inducing. I find the show as a whole equal parts exciting and dull, and think there are too frequently character inconsistencies, or perhaps better stated, absences of logic in characters who seemed to be very logical (pretty much limited to Skylar and Walt). I'm not sure I'm going to continue with the show.

Sorry to clutter this thread, but I've been staying away from the show's thread in the fear of being spoiled.
The end of season two was my only major problem with the show. Seasons 3 and 4 are much better.

Exactly. It's a soap opera for men, minus the trashy fun. It is truly dull television.
I finished season one but yeah, hate that show.

Might as well throw this out there while I'm ruining my own television-watching reputation: along with the two shows previously mentioned, The Sopranos is one of, if not THE most overrated shows I've ever seen.
Nah, mid series it got quite good. Oz is the most overrated show I've ever seen, truly awful in every way.

Perfect comparison. I watched through the end of season two, and never felt any desire to watch the third season.
That's too bad because that's when it started getting genuinely good.

No one has mentioned Hell on Wheels, yet. Imabout to start that shit.
Don't. I quit two episodes before the season finale for Season 1. Long stretches of dull mixed in with episodes where really nothing of actual importance or interest happens.

Also The Sopranos is pretty awesome, actually (although due to lack of funds I haven't finished Season 6 Part 2 yet). Never saw Breaking Bad or Mad Men. At some point I'll get around to both of those shows, although its just easier to wait for them to end so I can burn through them all the way through later on.

The Wire is a show that I tried to watch, and the fact that I took too long to get through Season 1 has prevented me from really jump starting the show. I'm not used to having to pay that much attention to a TV show-and this is coming from someone who religiously viewed and examined Lost back in the day.

Entourage I have no interest in finishing, as I abandoned the show shortly after Season 3 or 4, I believe. For the record though Buffy is pretty amazing, and anyone who tried to view it should recognize that the show gets good only midway through Season 2.

Just thought I would point out that Irish has decided to leave the boards for good. He has asked for his account to be disabled.

Man, he was really pissed that we didn't discuss Sly's mom.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

This is interesting to read, because the season finale of season 2 made me quit the show...just was no longer interested in his story afterwards.

Indeed. As was Meg. I'm gonna miss him. Just hope that he changes his mind.

You know how people say celebrity deaths come in threes? Maybe internet deaths do too. First Meg, now Irish and who's next? I think I can drive out a fellow poster by insulting or demeaning them for having an opposing viewpoint. Mara would be particularly susceptible to this.

Are you kidding she feeds off opposition. Cut off her head and she'll grow back three. That's actually biologically factual.

I have a few emotional triggers. I'm sure you could find them. I've left boards in a huff NEVER TO RETURN before, and I never did.

I think I drove off one MC poster by losing my temper at him. (In all fairness, everyone else jumped on my side, and he got seriously jumped.)

I think this is where we discuss Buffy the Vampire Slayer's narrative flaws. Or I could just tell you that your cat will not be going to kitty heaven when it dies.
