No damage here. Been up since 0400 (Old Man Meeko certainly is regular). Power outages around the county, but didn’t see any trees down when I went to Home Depot at 0600. Today brings an excessive heat warning. Weeeee. Sounds like a video game kind of day.

Bac0n and crew ended up bailing on their campsite. I’m sure he’ll chime in eventually.

Posted to this effect in the camping thread, but yeah, we had to scramble in the middle of the night to avoid the storm, leaving our tent, pop up shelter and camping equipment behind. Just the fambly and whatever we can throw into the back of the car in five minutes or less. Then it was a mad dash home to beat the storm. Think I almost ran over two deer leaving the park.

All’s well that ends well, tho. Beat the storms by about a half hour, and our stuff was mostly intact when we went back this morning.

Not the first time I had to evacuate a site in a flash, but fortunately these sorts of circumstances are few and far between. Camping remains one of my favorite things to do.

I don't have anything for this. Just thought it should be seen.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

If he needs that much sunscreen on his face, imagine what the rest of him is like.

There is a condo for sale in London for $254,000.

    It is 67 sq ft.

The world of real estate is a joke.

I swear, he looks like he's wearing a mask of his face over his actual face in that photo.

Looks bigger than 67 SQ feet. Has to be at least 10 feet by 10 feet at a minimum. What's the average size of a studio?

A very quick Google search shows about 500 sq ft.

    I would've guessed ~150 from the pic.

No, like, 500 sq ft is the "average" studio apartment size.

  19. #47994
Oh right. Well, yeah, I'll just say that studio looks below average.

Cash purchase only. Reduced 50k pounds from earlier. Suggesting upgrades throughout... Sounds like a nightmare.

All things considered, would definitely make a good airbnb, and you're a half hour walk from QPR, an hour from Chelsea (12 min drive)...

    I hate Chelsea. I'm out!!

I don't have anything for this. Just thought it should be seen.

It's unbelievable this ass-hole isn't on trial at the Hague for fomenting genocide in Myanmar. Imagine there was a picture of Félicien Kabuga surfing and everyone's response was, "His sunscreen looks silly!"

Facebook let the government of Myanmar use its service to foment genocide. In other words, Facebook and Matt Zuckerberg profited from genocide. They also profit from antisemitism.

I'm aware of the event. But i'm curious how you expect the CEO of a user generated product to take the blame for this?

That's a bit of a stretch baby doll even if those members happened to click on some ads that accounted for Facebook revenue.

As with all social media companies, Facebook's algorithms are designed to promote extreme content in order to maintain user engagement. Fomenting genocide is the logical culmination of Facebook's business model.
