I got a job! Pending the background check, I start next week.
Congratulations! I hope it's going to be. Lot of fun and a ton of money.

Just the other day I filled out five pages of personal info for the NATO security check that I have to undergo before I can start my new job. Seriously, it's crazy what I had to answer just to become an office employee with the Danish police.

I'm about 2/3 of the way through my Scotland and England trip. So far we spent about half a day in London (will be back for the last two days of the trip) just doing some sightseeing before continuing on to Glasgow. We stayed at a bed and breakfast in Dumbarton before heading to the Isle of Skye for a few days visiting my wife's aunt and uncle. Next we drove to Edinburgh and spent a couple days there sight seeing and now we're back in England in a little town called Burghwallis visiting different aunts and uncles (we took a day trip to York today) where we'll be for a couple days before heading back to London. Fun stuff so far. I'll post some pictures when I get back.

Twas a subconscious inspiration I'm sure. I certainly enjoy having Joaquin's disapproving snarl directed at the post above mine.

A trigger that will just enrage me with very little build-up: when someone who is not doing their job tries to deflect blame by suggesting I am not doing my job. HULK SMASH.

Some of my mentally ill clients are SO SO RACIST. It's hard to talk to a paranoid schizophrenic about racism.

"I'm sure your new neighbor is perfectly nice. No, I'm not going to take down his license plate number 'in case something happens.' Please be nice to your neighbor. No, I won't talk to his landlord about evicting him. It's okay if you don't want to be friends with your neighbors, but you have to be polite, okay? Promise?"

I was testing for a position with the video game developers my girlfriend works for. I allowed myself to dream about moving there, working together and living together... I blew it, and they hired someone else.

    I'm absolutely gutted.

My current job sucks, and I haven't been paid for two months already. I borrowed rent money from my sister in law, and I'm absolutely and utterly broke. And now this...

I'm so sorry to hear that, ETM.

What? Is your firm not getting any clients at the moment, or something?

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

I'll echo Sycophant's sympathies, ETM. So sorry to hear this...

How can a company not pay their employees for two months?

They ran out of money right at the end of several large projects. We're basically working so we can get paid for the projects, and get our backpay. I mean, we have rights and we could force the issue, but finding ANY job right now is insanely hard.

I've started selling my stuff to get by, but no luck so far.

This very long, interesting article traces the creation of Much Ado About Nothing by having everyone reflect on how they all met, and their relationships with Joss. It's very FRIENDSHIP FOREVER. Absolutely worth a read.

I've only just now discovered that Joss Whedon has started tweeting regularly.

Cobie Smulders got The Avengers because of Alyson Hannigan. For some reason that made me smile a huge smile.

    "She was like a terrier."

I like how involved in the Whedonverse the HIMYM cast is (Hannigan, Smulders, and NPH.) Now I really, really want Segel to do some Whedon, because admit it; that would work!

HIMYM has also racked up tons of Whedon actors in minor roles: Morena Baccarin, Alexis Denisof, Amy Acker, Tom Lenk, Harry Groener, Danny Strong, etc.

Isn't Club 33 supposed to be a secret?

How big of a secret is it if everybody knows about it, you can check in on Facebook, and instagram all the menus?

I have a FB friend who is a member, and every time I get a picture of his lunch, I think "You are terrible at secrets."

I'd really like to apologize to the station wagon I almost damaged when I made a panicked, idiotic move to illegally cut it off by making a left turn. This is probably unlikely to happen, so I'll keep feeling bad about it. I am not a great driver.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I don't think she's pretty. Like, at all.

Other supposedly beautiful women that I don't think are pretty include Jessica Biel and Megan Fox.
