    wtf that was quick

    what did you get?
One of the boons of not having children is having a decent disposable income. Also, my credit score is excellent. As I said before, I had already been thinking about replacing it. Its death was just the spur.

I got an ASUS 15-inch TUF laptop.

Might I install a game or two? Ooooohhh ... I think I might.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I was left speechless today when a very good friend of mine (and someone I've always thought of as being very intelligent and level headed) stated with absolute certainty that racism does not exist in the USA anymore.

If that wasn't bad enough, when I questioned their claim and made arguments to the contrary, they became very angry and aggressive.

Heh I had no idea that existed.
    Blog!

    And it's happened once again
    I'll turn to a friend
    Someone that understands
And sees through the master plan
    But everybody's gone
And I've been here for too long
To face this on my own
Well, I guess this is growing up

Today the management member I hired 3 weeks ago and have spent the last 3 weeks training quit via text message. So I'm short a person today AND have to work a double. Plus I have to figure out a way to cover her remaining shifts.

And just now I got publicly yelled at and cursed out by a customer who believes that kombucha drinks are made from marijuana, and said I should be ashamed for selling them to children. Even when I showed her the ingredients list, she insisted that "now that it's legal, they can put it in everything and they don't have to tell you! EVERYONE knows what kombucha is!!!"

I am not paid enough for this.

Kombucha gets a hippie stereotype, so I could see some buffoons thinking that.

She has diabetic retinopathy and cataracts.

We went to the retina clinic yesterday to have it dealt with.

She requires weekly treatments for the next few weeks, leading up to laser and surgery.

All together it will be about $10K.

    Which we do not have.

Have you thought about starting a GoFundMe for it? I mean, I could give you a grand that way right off the bat...

    Stu, I'm speechless...

    No, I haven't considered a GoFundMe.

I wasn't literally asking MC for money, just venting about the problem.

We will figure it out. I'm going to get an appointment with the bank and see about a loan or line of credit.

But wow. Thank you. I don't know how to express how that made us feel.

So sorry to hear about it, Meg. Is she a type 1 or type 2 diabetic? She's still fairly young, right?

And I hope you don't mind me asking but you are in Canada, correct? If so, why is this not covered by universal health insurance given that it's related to diabetes?

She is type 2, and yes she is still young.

    Yes I am in Canada.

There is currently a dispute between OHIP (Ontario's health insurance), and optometrists/eye doctors across the province. OHIP is not covering anything eye related at this time.

And I work for a dollar store, so my benefits are a joke.

Okay; well, just let me know if you do need some help with that later on, and I'll be more than happy to do my part.

That's really incredible of you, Stu. I don't know what else to say.

    Thank you so much.
