I don't think there's anything wrong with telling off a kid for being a brat. However, "that's how my parents raised me" strikes me as a pretty poor defense of one's own parenting. Your parents could be wrong, i.e. "My parents spanked me, therefore spanking is good parenting."

I don't disagree with the excessive, but I'm fuckin 43 and getting chastised for simply saying "Hey stop doing that" to my kids, by people who spanked me for doing far less.

I would got my ASS. KICKED. For making such noise. Now im told I'm too sensitive. And all I've done is said, "hey...quit it."

    Sigh...another rant inbound...

(Prewarning: I didn't vote for Biden or the other guy)

I'm sick of people blaming Biden for gas prices. Gas prices are high because oil companies hate democrats because they pay shitloads of money to have republicans elected, not actually because of anything Biden has done. There's no new gas tax. Republicans fake bitch about prices, then unanimously vote down a price gouging bill. Yet all the Republicans I know irl practically looooove to brag about high gas prices are because "BIDEN".

Also, we still pay about half what Europe is USED to paying normally.

Yeah all of that is accurate also neither party wants to move the US towards clean energy or even nuclear power. It's beyond maddening. I'm convinced that way too many people in this country want the president to be a dictator and he already has way too many powers that should be assumed by Congress instead.

I've found it very odd to take any side in that one. What the hell do I know?

I don't know if she really took a shit on Depp's bed (I want it to be true but know it's probably not), but even if she did, I wouldn't care. Johnny's got Pirates of the Caribbean money; he can buy a new bed.

Why would you want it to be true?

I just find the idea funny on a number of levels: first, that she would choose pooping on a bed, of all things, as her means of revenging herself against Depp, and then imagining her actually squatting over a bed and angrily pushing out a turd, probably while wearing a haute couture dress and heels. Just thinking about the practicalities of someone pooping on a bed is amusing to me: was it a sudden inspiration or did she plan it in advance, and for how long? Did she eat anything beforehand to increase the size and pungency of her stool? Did she take a laxative? Imagine the poor maid having to wash the duvet cover afterwards.

Methinks these latest accusations might best be taken with a grain of salt. From a few paragraphs into the article:

Now, let’s be clear: Said accusation is being primarily levied by the father of the kids in question, who is obviously not a disinterested party here. He was previously the subject of a domestic abuse accusation from the children’s mother, who has characterized him as a “violent and abusive ex” who Miller helped her escape from. (The man in question denies it, and says he’s motivated only by concern for his kids. He’s also reportedly filed a domestic case against the mother for taking the kids out-of-state.)
Losing is like fertilizer: it stinks for a while, then you get used to it. (Tony, Hibbing)

Yeah....I'm NOT defending Miller, but there's a lot of vague in that story.

I saw Adam Sandler on the street today (does he live in Toronto now?), and he just looked weary, like someone who's lived too long and yearns only for the gentle repose of the grave. I didn't recognize him until he was right in front of me, and when I said, "Oh," he gave me a sad, half-pleading look for half a second, as if to say, "Please, don't ask me for a picture. I just can't do it anymore."

I can't speak to the causes; all I know is he looks like a walking Itzhak Perlman violin solo, as if five thousand years of Jewish sorrow had been distilled into his frame.

Incidentally, it turns out he's not living in Toronto; he's just here to shoot a movie for Netflix.

Maybe he was preparing for his upcoming role? It's a new Safdie film?
