Masterfully done, honestly. Exceeds the first film by a considerable margin.
In a way, it feels like a last stand for the big-theater experience, in both a real way and a way that ties in with...

The pacing did feel off. Kind of felt like half of a miniseries that was cut up into a movie.
Solid. Villeneuve is the best craftsman working. That Zimmer score though… kind of an assault on the ears, IMO, and did not greatly complement the film.
Seems like there should be far less excuse for poor acting from English actors with Netflix now being part of the production, as they were for Squid Game, and having the resources available to pay...
Looks great.
Guess I’ll dissent. I’m underwhelmed. The VFX look a little too digital and same-y as any other modern action movie (even relying on the same tired orange/blue color correction).
The Matrix...
Listened to a podcast interview with Damon that piqued my interest on this. Apparently, the male perspectives were written together by Affleck and Damon, in their first project together since Good...
I liked it quite a bit, especially relative to the increasingly cosmic-focused Marvel stuff that is being churned out lately. The more grounded action was a welcome change, and the early set pieces...
Yes, Steve flying a machine he's literally never even seen before directly into fireworks for kicks was a special kind of dumb.
The opening scene, the introductory elements with Wiig, and Gadot's...
I thought this was a disaster. And I say this is as someone who thinks the first Wonder Woman is better than any Marvel movie and easily better than any non-Nolan DC movie. Nothing about it really...
I would argue the exact opposite. What makes Sicario great is its form, attributable almost entirely to Villeneuve and Deakins. The writer, Taylor Sheridan, has a knack for no-nonsense storytelling...
I was referring more to the fact that the 70s Joker (Phoenix) would exist as an iconic figure in the present-day of The Batman, and therefore, it wouldn’t be strange for modern gangs to be paying...
If it’s set in the same universe as Phoenix’s Joker, then it would make sense for there to be random people in clown makeup without necessarily meaning Joker is part of the story.
I’m with ETM. I’m surprised this movie could inspire such a strong negative reaction. It’s too ‘blah’ for that. Admittedly, it is getting way too much credit generally for clearing...
All the more reason I’m impressed that the filmmakers chose to make the conspiracy nut angle such a prominent part of the story. Even before the rise of the current lunacy to the online...
It’s funny - I would’ve really agreed with this in 2012. Turns out that the film may have actually underplayed the prevelance of grifters like Jude Law’s character and the conspiracy theory...
They executed the central concept well, but the ending is too abrupt which makes the entire experience feel largely shallow. They flirt with big ideas but reduce them to the most tired and obvious...
Has the bones of a decent action flick and benefits a lot from Charlize Theron’s presence. However, the craftsmanship and direction are a little lacking. Has the sheen of a direct-to-video effort. ...
I think this film is perfect. Most enrapturing cinematic experience in a while.
It would seem strange for them to rely so heavily on de-aging technology considering Fury Road became a cultural phenomenon precisely because it eschewed CGI in favor of practical effects wherever...
Not saying that any of it is well-executed from a logic standpoint, but I believe that is what the film was trying to sell. Fair point about it not making sense to continue after she’s been...
There is no “DNC” or “establishment” at play. You have a single moderate candidate who finally got on level ground with the liberal candidate and blew him up. So far, Sanders has shown no ability...
He does have a motive.
If the brother sets her up for a crime, she returns her $5 million inheritance to the trust, of which her brother is surely a beneficiary. Making her look insane in the...
I mean, all you have to do is pay attention to what the Republicans are saying about the Democrats. Trump and the GOP are openly campaigning for Bernie at this point, while eviscerating any moderate...
No, the architect of the home never lived down there. He built the bunker in the event of a North Korean missile attack. His only connection to the plot is that that original housemaid used to work...
