I've been throwing up and diarrhea for solid week. I've lost 15lbs in 7 days. This is what forced my mom to command me to the ER.

Good Lord.
Poor Skitch
Oh man:(
Please get better.
Keep strong, Skitch! Update us whenever you can and feel like it.
Yikes.
Be well, Skitch
One thing I forgot about: warm weather could slow the contagion. Wouldn't be surprised at all if the curve gets flattened simply by most of the country being in the 70s and 80s in a few weeks. Still means plenty of people are going to die, but if the USA gets out of this with 1M positive cases and 100K deaths, that would be much better than some of the doomsday predictions of over 5M deaths and half the country testing positive.
We're still going to be a wildly paranoid country and I fully expect sports arenas, concert venues, music festivals, and movie theaters are not going to be the same for years, maybe ever. Also, this will totally blow up again by December if a vaccine isn't developed by then. The fact that I've seen Dr. Fauci giving interviews where he admits he doesn't fully understand this virus doesn't give me a lot of faith. On the other hand, people developing antibodies that have had it is a hopeful sign for a future vaccine.
It's not cold in Panama and their per capita infection numbers are slightly higher than Canada's. Qatar's infections are higher still. (Source.)
There could be other mitigating factors. Lack of social distancing, population density. I imagine Qatar has an extremely high population density. I don't think this is going away with warmer weather, but the hyperbolic contagion of this virus might drop a bit. Everything I've read about flu viruses is that in colder weather the h20 surrounding the virus when you exhale evaporates instantly and the virus hangs in the air longer, enabling anyone within six feet of the host to inhale it back it. In warmer weather and/or humid weather that h20 stays surrounding the virus, adds density, and drops the virus out of the air faster.
I hope you get better, Skitch.
So they are saying to stay inside this week, anticipating it being a bad week. They are saying don't even go to the grocery store. Is this necessary since all of the stores near me don't allow more than 30 people in the store at a time?
Man I really wish Prime Now was working...
I guess I'll try Instacart.
Damn. Get well soon, Skitch.
Sending positive mojo your way, Skitch.
"the sun" referring to Washington DC as "DOC" gave me a chuckle.

Wyoming wins.
Skitch, stay in touch, and stay strong. We're here to keep your mind occupied, at least.
