Is Fallout 3 better on the 360 or PS3?
Also, is prior knowledge of the series really necessary to get the most out of the game?
Finished Ghostbusters (Wii) last night and thoroughly enjoyed it, although I wish the final destructor form you battle wasn't such a blatant Andross rip-off. Something a little bit goofier, more in line with Stay Puft, might've been the way to go.
Still, very much a fan of this. I fully support another Ghostbusters game, if the cast comes back. Obviously it wasn't as well-written or fun as the original movie, and I think Alyssa was a bust as a character (she should've been the villain), but I liked the way it tied the first two films together, and the actual busting of ghosts was pretty rad.
PS3 fans say the PS3 version is better. Xbox fans say the Xbox version is better. If you get the Xbox version, all the DLC will be available immediately. If you get the PS3 version, by the time you finish the game, the DLC will probably be available.
No. I never played any of the games before this, and I played F3 exclusively for months. I could not get enough. I'm really looking forward to the DLC.
Having access to the Fallout 3 wiki can help you squeeze the most fun as you can from the game. Make no mistake, the game is huge! One of the biggest games I've ever played. There is a ton of stuff that you can easily miss, and a ton more that you will miss during your first run-through. I played the game for five months and there is s still a bunch of stuff I have yet to uncover.

Yeah, Fallout 3 will keep you busy for quite some time. The Anchorage DLC was kinda weak, basically a shoot-em-up mission. I haven't played the others.

Awesome!
A great mainstream game that also helps struggling artists? That's unpossible!
Rock Band makes their track creation tool available to the public, indie bands can upload their songs, approved songs go on the Rock Band Store.
In light of my prior post, requesting Activision to slobber on "it," I thought I'd bring up the recent question that may have haunted many a PS3 gamer.
Infamous (Sucker Punch) and Prototype (Activision) are extremely similar games. But which is better?
Both have ...
Characters who can climb up and leap from tall buildings.
Characters who can glide through the air.
Characters with insane-o superpowers available to them.
Experiments gone terribly, terribly wrong. (Or right, depending on your view.)
Sandbox worlds, in the tradition of Grand Theft Auto.
What Infamous does better:
-The cut-scenes are highly stylized, made to look like comic book panels.
-The story is not wonderful, but it is better. (Mind you, I have yet to complete Prototype, so this could change, but right now I doubt it.)
-The control scheme is more intuitive and easy to master.
-The morality system offers an interesting dynamic to the game.
What Prototype does better:
-Movement is fun as hell. Running up the sides of buildings, leaping, and then gliding for blocks and blocks across a replicated Manhattan. SO FUN!
-Combat is fun as hell. In Infamous you have lightning powers -- which are fun, don't get me wrong. But in Prototype your character's arms morph into spikes, blades, and spikey tentacles. During combat, you will mow down crowds and crowds of people (innocent and not), helicopters, tanks, you name it.
-Replayability. And this is the big, big thing. When I cleared Infamous of all the side-missions, that was it, the game was over. You got your guy ultra-powerful, but there was nothing else to do in the game, unless you're a stickler for getting "trophies." (And I'm not.) Prototype appears to leave all kinds of side-missions open all the time. (I'll be able to say for sure when I finish the story, though.) Missions that you earn medals doing.
-More gore than you could shake a severed limb at. (Big plus in my sick little book, let me tell you.)
So, in the end, they're both great games, both a lot of fun. But, if you're only going to buy one, I would recommend Prototype.
Heads up for anyone who has any Hollywood Video's around them that don't have gamecrazy's attached. All their used games $29.99 and under are $5 for all systems. This is a nationwide sale!
Today I picked up all for 360:
GTAIV
Far Cry 2
Mirror's Edge
Sonic Unleashed
all for a total of $21 and some change.

Apparently this is what my photo translates to in the EA Gameface.
I picked up 4 secondhand games yesterday:
- Rainbow 6: Las Vegas (360)
- Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (PS3)
- Resistance: Fall of Man (PS3)
- Left 4 Dead (360)
Any comments on these from you guys?
I had no idea "Lost Planet" was available on PS3! It's a great run-and-gun shooter with some beautiful graphics. Hope you enjoy it.
Other than that I've only played "Left 4 Dead" which is a lot of fun. I'm not in the "best game evvvvvaaaaaahhhh" category for it, but I do think it's good.
Yeah I was surprised how much I enjoyed Lost Planet.
Started GTA IV yesterday. Though the controls are a bit tough (which is my bad, mostly... I've never been savvy with more than four buttons), I'm lovin' it!
