They should pull a DC and release an alternative cut of Rise of Skywalker, only it's a completely different movie shot from scratch.

I would trash the entire trilogy and start all over again. Focus on an aging Luke right from the start and follow as he recruits a group of new characters for a specific reason that is "resolved" in movie 1, then have someone from that group evolve into the antagonist for the remaining two films as the new characters face split loyalties, betrayal, finding their inner strength etc, and then let one of those characters slowly emerge as the new hero by the end of the third movie.
Or you could just have another go at a Death Star, I guess.
How about Lucas' original pitch of episode 9 ending with Han and Leia discovering an empty planet and colonizing it, calling it "Earth"?
Brilliant.
That would be the Jedi Academy trilogy books. It wouldve been great (as I recall). Hell, most the books they wrote post ROTJ wouldve been fantastic. But no, as usual, instead of using any of the blueprints, Hollywood had to reinvent the wheel and just wing it. *roll eyes*
I want a Star Wars trilogy from a Sith perspective.
The Sith are just as dumb as the Jedi. The only truly interesting way forward would have been blurring the lines with some take on the Gray concept.

I feel like things are at a standstill for SW going forward outside of the Mandalorian.
Hahha. Something I just realized through browsing Stars Wars stuff.
Palpatine wanted Rey to kill him at the end of this movie. Why?
