I forgot to include a poll. Now I can't figure out how to add it, or delete the thread. :(

Thank you, sir.

I loved this movie. All of it. Glad I got to see it in theaters. Funny, depressing, oddly moving in the right parts, and lots of action, too. What a movie. Bagels!

I appreciated the two lead performances, but jees, the comedy just did not land with me at all. I'm a fan of everything bagels, but put me in the wrong here, I did not jive with it at all. The almost sold-out crowd on a Tuesday was loving it though.
I don't consider this a review, but I've decided it's really hard to describe something when one word suffices, "Silly." And not in a good way.

A bit concerning this is considered a Great Movie in our 21st century dumdum world.

I think one of the reasons I loved it is because the humor totally worked for me. Without that it would have been more of an interesting experiment with less of an emotional connection.
I have a fairly high tolerance for goofiness, though.

Clearly you didn't understand the significance of the bagel. Oh well!

I actually prefer the film's dramatic elements the most.

The funny eyes were amusing but I guess I'm a silly person. Or really dead inside so it's funny to me. I donno.

I really enjoyed myself ultimately, but there was too much exposition. The movie took a while to get going. I think I would've unabashedly loved it at an even two hours.

I might have been spoiled by the uniform praise all around and expected a masterpiece, because I was kind of (a little) underhwelmed. Still good stuff, and one of those films where the role is indivisible from the actor playing it. I mean, replace Michelle Yeoh here and the screenplay would have to be very different. It's funny you guys mentioning the humor because I saw this on a theater with five other people and I noticed what some of them found hilarious I didn't and sometimes the other way around. If I'd known this was directed by the duo behind Swiss Army Man my expectations would also have been altered. I like that film more because it's more ambiguous and less slavish to the rules of its universe but this is still a strong recommendation.

Exhausting, in a mostly joyful way (there's a slight dip into wearying on the way to that third act) when it's constantly this inventive in its visual/narrative possibilities and anchored by an absolute star turn from Michelle Yeoh, plus a stellar roster of supporting cast. The deliriously maximalist approach here reminds a bit of Cloud Atlas, and since the latter is among my all-time favorites that comparison makes for very high praise to me. 8/10

Nice to see some Cloud Atlas love. Seen it twice and I think I dreamt about seeing it again the other night.

Bonkers movie. Loved it, specially everything about the buttplug trophy.
