RIP to both.
Poor Michael Lonsdale. He appeared in films by Buñuel, Duras, Malle, Resnais, Rivette, Truffaut, and Welles, but the first thing they mention in every obituary is that he was the villain in a cheesy James Bond movie.
One of the all time tag team legends.
About two years ago, he was the pitchman for Goof Off stain remover products. Ads were so funny I got some Goof Off as a stocking stuffer for christmas (thanks santa!).
And now I can't find the ads anywhere, dammit.

I'm currently reading Rinzler's making-of Aliens book and his name pops up a lot, same for the 1979 predecessor.
Holy Shit, Eddie Motherfucking Van Halen.
Damn...
Oh shit. I loved her.
Sean Connery. :(
Can we start a new trend in this thread? Whenever someone passes we name our favorite role of theirs? I feel like this celebrates them and creates discussion instead of just being a sad list of dead people.
Hunt For Red October, Marko Ramius. His handling of excellent material is (imo) notably understated compared to most Connery roles. He uses a calmer tone, subtle facial gestures, it's a wonderful performance.
Have long thought The Hill as his best, but watching The Man Who Would Be King last year has me think he might exceed that. RIP.
Huge part of my childhood gone, right there.
I was raised on Bond films. And The Last Crusade was always my favorite Indy flick.
RIP.
He was 90 wow. I suspect Morgan Freeman is not too far off either at this point.
I'll go with Jimmy Malone in The Untouchables (the first Connery film I watched).
