First question: When the Taliban takes over Afghanistan again, how will American warmongers spin it as a victory for the U.S.? Will they use the same tired "they never defeated us in battle" line?

"We got to Bin Laden from Afghanistan".
It won't matter as much because frontpage news on Afghanistan has been sparse for the last 10 years.
The US tends to stay in places where we put down large amount of troops. So this means either a puppet regime or military bases or some kind of combination of the two.
Stability doesn't matter so much as long as we have the ability to funnel guns and money to someone on the ground and call them "good friends" in the press.
By the time it happens, the US will be involved in some other foreign shithole that we have no business being in.

I'll go dig for that nuclear bomb shelter.
WW III, here we come. Keith Richards and the cockroaches will end up inheriting what's left of the earth.
Yeah, fuck off dude.Quote:
Strategic Affairs Minister Moshe Ya'alon said he preferred an American military attack on Iran to an Israeli one. "A military move is the last resort," he said.
I doubt there will be anything like WW3 - just another Iraq but with Israeli casualties as well this time...and there doesn't seem anything we can do about it. None of the riots in the 60s did anything about Vietnam.
Pakistan to U.S.: GTFO
According to a prominent neo-con in Washington the biggest problem with Iran is:
Psychotic.Quote:
The biggest problem for the United States is not Iran getting a nuclear weapon and testing it, it's Iran getting a nuclear weapon and not using it. Because the second that they have one and they don't do anything bad, all of the naysayers are going to come back and say, "See, we told you Iran is a responsible power. We told you Iran wasn't getting nuclear weapons in order to use them immediately." ... And they will eventually define Iran with nuclear weapons as not a problem.
Tonight while flipping through AM channels looking for the football game I stumbled across one station that was broadcasting some neo-con saying that we have to treat Iran as a serious enemy since they kicked us out back in 1979. Apparently people forgot that we are responsible for the Iranians taking over the embassy and tossing out the Shah, who we installed back in 1953 when we overthrew the previously democratically elected government.
The drumbeats against Iran in the media keep coming. It's amazing the complete fabrications and propaganda the news media will say about Iran.
"Diplomats" say this, a "report" says that, without offering any sources or confirmation. Ridiculous.

Very glad that via a lucky accident of birth I don't reside in Homs, Syria. Craziness going on over there. This is actually some damn courageous journalism.

The drone attacks are just creating future people who will want to get revenge on the US. They need to stop.
Also I forgot about this thread, otherwise I would have mentioned the potential Turkey-Syria war that could be breaking out in the Middle East. Hopefully it doesn't happen.
I remember this thread being longer.
Yo!
Welcome back. Also I miss Barty.
Huh so far no war with Iran. Yet. Also we should have left Afghanistan in 2012 or 2011. Good lord 20 years of wasted lives, money and resources. Twitter is full of a lot of dumb ass warmongers today.
PS: Hehe his Indy avatar and mine match up well in this thread.
