Swatting his son with a switch: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...with-a-switch/
Ya cut me deep, Carl. So deep.
(still hilarious)

I mean it's not good. Let's just put that out there. It's an awful terrible thing to have done. But why does it have to benefit the Patriots? I'm just asking.Quote:
Sources connected to Peterson tell us ... the alleged victim is a male child from Minnesota who was visiting Adrian back in May at AP's home in Texas.
We're told the child returned home to his mother in Minn. who noticed injuries and took the child to a doctor. A short time later, the doctor contacted authorities in Texas to report Adrian.

I would like to know what the doctor saw from the kid getting switched before I consider my reaction.
A local MN affiliate is reporting that it actually was his son. That seemed to be a point of confusion stemming off TMZ's report.
You guys have obviously not seen The Jacksons.

Having grown up in the south, I've been on the less desirable end of many a switching (belts and switches were the popular forms of discipline back in the day) -- and I say 'back in the day' because I assume they've since fallen out of favor and were replaced with...what? Time-outs?
When I hear tree branch, I think of something thicker and stronger than a "switch". A switch is a thin branch, really more of a long twig -- strong enough to be whip-like (and could indeed leave welts) -- if it draws blood (which thankfully never happened to me), then the switch was too big and/or the parent was too angry -- but either way, that clearly is child abuse.
True story -- a popular form of southern punishment was being told to go get a switch (with which you would be whipped -- on the legs, of course); while you were outside, looking for that switch that your mom would whip you with, you had the knowledge that if the switch you picked out wasn't big enough, then she would go get a more sufficient switch.
I sure hope this isn't still a common practice.
Well I vultured AP's backup to try and screw over a rival in my money league. This season has been full of crazy unexpected bullshit and its only week 2.
The word in MN is that AP's career is likely over.
All this news has been all kinds of depressing. After Manning retires, will there be ANY role models in the NFL anymore?
Jamaal Charles and Alex Smith seem to both be alright. Same goes for Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady.

Also RG3 and DeSean Jackson both down for the Skins. They're my survivor pick.
Plenty of role models. The NFL and media just don't publicize it as much.
I'd say you got lucky with the Washington pick Shaun, but they won pretty convincingly even with a 2nd string QB.
Some teams expect to win and their fans celebrate as such. There's never that issue with Cleveland. Great win, good composure by Hoyer and a mediocre receiving crew doing just enough to stay alive, and an always GIFable Rob Ryan meltdown on the sidelines.
Beautiful.
