I'm in! Thanks stu!
What you were saying about the discussion there again, Duke? https://i.ibb.co/wBdgGFH/icon-e-biggrin.gif At any rate, we do keep our (excellent) discussions there confined to a handful of recurring threads, but that's a better thing in my opinion, since it makes the forum easier to browse, with better continuity of discussion (no offence to the actual quality of the discussion here, since it's been equally excellent in my experience), and instead of segregating the discussion of every single current/upcoming film in its own isolated thread which will only be used for a little while anyway, they all get mixed together in something like the Recently Seen thread where they bounce off each other, allowing us to have these collective, stream-of-consciousness discourses where we talk about "2001: A Space Odyssey, Hitchcock, the value of criticism, and Paul Blart: Mall Cop all on the same page"; where else are you gonna get that kind of quality and diversity, eh?
My friend posted something on FB a while back about how exhausting it is for the responsible, selfless, caring, mature segment of society to continue to hold the umbrella over everyone screaming and whining that the rain isn't real just because they're not getting wet. To wit:

He didn't graduate high school did he?
Reading about cases like this makes me insanely grateful for my fellow countrymen. Our "blown-out-of-proportion" fear that leads to (often self-controlled, because of the insipid junta government's ineffectiveness) masks and social distancing means that, with some minor time/regulation restrictions, I can go to films, restaurants, and clubbing now.
Fucking moron.
Yep.
Yesterday I had a truly maddening conversation with someone who truly, 100% deeply and sincerely believes that poor people are ruining society, and that Trump and people like Besos and Musk are the only thing keeping us from plunging into a socialist hell.
It got to the point where I just had to say "this conversation is over, we don't agree."
I can't believe how deeply brainwashed so many people are. People with nothing defending the actions of billionaires who have done everything in their power to make sure that that person has nothing.
Bootlickers are pretty set in their ways and they are defending people who don't know or care about them. It's pathetic.
I'm still a fan of much of Musk's accomplishments but that guy is a crazy weirdo and a complete asshole, and his legion of stans is even weirder and more dangerous.

I just submitted to work from home indefinitely.
Agreed on all points.
Some cool forward thinking technologically. But I find it disheartening that someone who also set out with such a politically and socially forward thinking mindset has become...just like every other mega corporation billionaire.
"How much money can I acquire before I croak? Screw everyone else."
Nice, duke. We seem to be working from home indefinitely now as well. Mostly positives. Only negative is that the server we connect to remotely is 100% swamp ass. Just a fetid stew of languorous mire. I sometimes have to do server-related work at night or on weekends because of how slow and awful it is. Luckily, that's only a small portion of my job. Love the rest.
accurate
lol
I've been working from home for the forseeable future since March.
I live by myself.
I hate it.
More or less the same. Although I have a dog, so she gets PLENTY of walks now.
I look forward to my visits at the gym and cooking a lot more actually. I'll still hit my stores from time to time, and while I would like to visit my other locations in the region, I understand I just need to wait it out until it's more safe.
But yeah, my biggest advice is to just go out for walks and some type of activity. Some of those long days at home end up being terrible.
Walks definitely help.
Not a walk guy, but now it's part of my routine.
India surpassed USA as having the highest confirmed cases in a day. Since September, they've been hitting 78k/day, up to the 90's even.
I feel like I've seen nothing about this.
