Today, I am twenty-nine going on nine.
This show, was so good, that even kids didn't get half the jokes.
I have a lot of boring, hand-wringing thoughts I spat out elsewhere that I'll refrain from rewording and putting here. But I really wonder what Animaniacs in the year 2020 will look like and if it can feel anything like their 90s incarnations.
I never really got the love the Animaniacs. Loved Tiny Toons, loved DuckTales (still love DuckTales, especially after reading many of the original Scrooge comics from Banks and Rosa).
Animaniacs was always too loud and chaotic for me.
Anyone play the recent DuckTales HD re-release ? It's pretty great.
I did not, but I played the heck out of the NES one.
Alright, damn it, when the fuck are we bringing back Batman: The Animated Series?
Animaniacs played early if I remember, so I'd only get to see it if my ma put the pedal to the metal when driving us from school. Even in that case, it would be the latter half, in which I'd be a Pinky & The Brain fan.
Parents got me into the Marx Brothers as a young one, so I remember considering the Animaniacs the animated/new version of them.
The Goodfeathers were the best, and that definitively gets better once you've seen Goodfellas.

"That's it!"
Did this ever happen?
Ah...mazing.
It........it's perfect.
New season now on Hulu.
Perfect.
Three episodes in so far. I'm missing the Goodfeathers and Slappy Squirrel something fierce but otherwise, it's the same show now as it was 28 years ago. It's hysterical!
God, that Tucker Carlson segment, it's as if they never ever left.:D
Finished the season. The sense of humor hasn't vanished after 20+ years, the political and pop-culture satire is pinpoint (again, that Tucker Carlson segment *Chef's kiss*) and the energy remains. If there's any sort of gripe is the absence (sans a small cameo) of most of the original characters and I wish they could've kept the gag of the Warners being chased by Ralph in other shorts, but then again, since we only have Pinky and the Brain, I can see why.
I know there will be a second season, but I hope there are really more. I hope Tom Ruegger, the original staff and more of the original can join the new ones and most of all, that Animaniacs remains being as unique and refreshing as always.
