Ugh why is Trevorrow back? :(
Campbell Scott joins World 3. As Dodgson. Even though no one cares about him.
No one wants to be the next Tenet.

They want the guarantee of another billion dollars, yeah!
No idea why they keep making these beyond that.
Huge cast list, one can barely discern the big Guns.
Fuckin FINALLY a trailer! I like it. A lot. Packed to the gills with exactly what you knew they'd show and some unexpected stuff. Despite the fact that the city chaos at the end of Lost World was my least favorite part of that movie, I'm kind of loving an actual new direction with the franchise: trying to sort out a world where humans and dinosaurs roam totally free and form an unhappy mixture.
Yeah I'm in.
I'm gonna look right past the familiar faces, because I sometimes get the feeling movies are greenlit based on that singular selling point. Also, dinosaurs, like the aliens and predators, have lost nearly all capacity to terrify me. I will watch this and I will probably be entertained, but some of those action scenes with motorcycles and dinos look pretty generic and silly.
This might be the most realistic cgi dinos have ever looked in a Jurassic movie. Also, looks like fun.

This looks frickin badass
This got an absolute pasting from seemingly every critic and audience member in the world, but truly, it's not that bad. The first half--hell, fully the first two-thirds--of the movie is actually pretty good. The climax does get sillier with each passing moment, especially as the movie wants to force the two casts together and make winking little jokes, and Trevorrow indulges in his worst instincts toward the end, basically replicating parts of the first World's climax. The science is soft and has lost much of its philosophical punch by this point, even if the Monsanto-pinging is simultaneously both fair and shallow. But it's exciting and executed well often enough. I kind of loved Campbell Scott here, and at least the little clone girl gets more to do. A good enough time, if not a great one. But it's long past time to let the franchise go.
It's too long, and it's still easily better than JW2.
As far as letting the franchise go, we have to be one entry away from adding rocket launchers and riding them, right? :D
