I've been meaning to bring this up for a couple of years, but I always end up forgetting. Shame on me.
But seriously, mods? These are two vBulletin plugins that I think we need to have:
Image resizer
Automatic video embeds

Don't blame the mods, only I have the authority for this. I have been meaning to take care of the image resizer, but I keep forgetting.
I'll get 'em done tonight.
Image product complete. Easiest way to see the new format is to look in the Banner thread. The settings for this feature are specific to each poster and can be found in your User CP under Edit Options.
Much love. I think the default size is fine.
What? No.
I don't really like the idea myself which is why I didn't follow through. If everyone wants it, I'll do it, but I would rather people go to YouTube as opposed to having it appear in the post without someone knowing it first. You can never be sure what someone is linking to, and I would rather keep it off the page.
So long as the videos don't start by themselves, I think that would be really cool.
Just having a couple embedded YouTube videos on a page would increse the overall size of the page quite a bit. And there would so be abusers.
I am in complete agreement with Sycophant here.
Simplicity > other things.
Loved the old MC layout (the old matchcut.org) because of how basic it was. I'm glad that this incarnation has largely followed the same formula. We should definitely strive to keep this place more Google and less Myspace.
That's a vote against embedded videos.
It's not the plugin I linked, but there's one where the plugin replaces youtube urls with a div box similar to the spoiler boxes, but with the video's title written on it, and the YouTube vid will only load when you click on it.
Alright. You can now embed YouTube videos (only YouTube).

You will need to use the movie code at the end of the URL after the "=". For example, the above URL is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Bmhjf0rKe8, but I'm just using the part after the equal sign.
Type:
{youtube}0Bmhjf0rKe8{/youtube}
Replace the {}{/} with [][/].
If there are complaints, I will need to remove the feature. Also, use common sense when embedding instead of just linking. NSFW stuff should not be embedded.
Neat. MadMan 1, Sycophant, 5,000,000 :P
I'm still looking for that plugin I found a long time ago that hides/doesn't load videos unless you click the "Show Video" button in the post. Argh.
