Saw her last year at Riot Fest. She totally killed it.
Today I'm working in our chat queue instead of talking on the phone all day, which means I get to listen to music all day.
Just fired up Sia's This is Acting. THAT VOICE. My god, it's like falling into a star.
Out of curiosity, I gave Squeeze by The Velvet Underground a chance.
It was not awful. Is it anywhere near the canon VU albums? No. Is it original? Also no; sounds as if Doug Yule was trying to recreate Loaded (and it's nowhere in that level. Is it even a VU album? I don't think so. But none of the songs is what I'd call bad, some are even fun to listen. It seems as if it had been released as a Doug Yule solo album, or another name, it wouldn't be as hated as it is.
I certainly has heard waaaay worse shit.
After Hours by The Weeknd

First time listening, mostly to see if I can drive that Blinding Lights song out of my head. It's been stuck there for two days. Decent album. Love the 80s influence. Haven't enjoyed every single song, but most of them are enjoyable.
Good album. Way too long, but still. Best Weeknd album since his mixtapes. "Hardest to Love" is my favorite.
This one's for bac0n.

RIP Daft Punk. It's moments like this that make me wish people didn't throw around the word "iconic" so much. Legendary duo. I look forward to the music they make apart.
I love Daft Punk. On the other hand it had been 8 years since their last album so its no wonder they broke up.
I really like Taylor Swift's Reputation as an album. On the other hand Look What You Made Me Do is a track that could have been cut from the album. Delicate sounds more like her other stuff but I like that song lot.
Was deep in the depression hole when I was listening to this album regularly. Fired up again today just to see if it still holds some power. This song still gives me the chills.

Ooof. Apparently this song still has the ability to make me teary-eyed.

Great album. Listened to it a LOT back in the day.
Back in the Limewire days, this song was mislabelled as a Radiohead one (with a different title, I think), so for the longest time I thought it was a Radiohead B-Side from The Bends/OK Computer era. Then I stumbled across The Sophtware Slump somehow and imagine my surprise....excellent album though
Daniel Knox' latest album - Won't You Take Me With You
You should all check him out. He's a major cinephile, was working as a projectionist at The Music Box theater before the Pandemic. He played organ for a David Lynch presentation or something like that, related to Inland Empire.
Listening to Your Arms Around Me by Jens Lekman as I'm progressing through Night Falls over Kortedela. Such an amazingly beautiful and honest song. Hard to call it a highlight because the entire album is fucking fantastic.
A pretty good French post-rock album that you can listen to the entirety of here:

This new Cheap Trick album is exactly what the world needs right now.

Intended to go to bed at 10 last night. Started Skeletal Lamping and could not stop. Went to sleep pondering countless masterbation fallacies and phallocentric tyranny-- found myself in another wet nightmare.
One of the great overlooked albums of the decade: https://open.spotify.com/track/0NwMZ...urce=copy-link
Colossus by Arcane Existence, which is one of the better metal albums of the year so far.
Here's one of the best tracks on it, The Altar:
