I have advised my wife to lock the liquor cabinet. I can totally see myself having a few drinks, taking off my clothes and banging on the piano, thus scarring my children (and neighbors) for life.
RIP.
Damn, that's a sad one. Long live the (mostly) alive remaining Pythons.
Jim Lehrer.
His daughter, too.
Fucking horrible.
How long do I have to wait before bring up the ‘Colorado Kobe’ incident?
I've bashed him plenty. I think letting his family grief in peace is a good idea.
Kobe was an absolute Nuggets season-killer.
12-5 against the Nuggets in Playoffs (three seasons ended by the Lakers)
31.8 ppg in that series.
I can say that it was an absolute treat to watch him play basketball, especially if it wasn't against the Nuggets. I got to see him play a handful of times in person, and he was a destination player in that if he was coming to town, people would go out of their way to see him and him alone.
An absolute tragedy that his daughter was in the helicopter with him. That shook me the most, and I feel for his family.
I'm not a huge basketball fan, so his rape trial has always been the first image that pops into my head when I hear Kobe Bryant's name. That was the trial that popularized the infamous slut-shaming defense - namely, that woman slept around alot, so she basically deserved to be raped. That poor lady got dragged through the mud on national TV, and her life was fucking ruined. And Bryant got off.
I wonder how many rape victims were thinking of reporting their assault, only to think of that lady and say, fuck it, not worth it: I already got raped once by a guy, don't need to get raped all over again by the legal system.
This is what Kobe Bryant's legacy will be to me.
