I believe so.
Instead of a Venom cross-over I'd like Venom to be introduced in a Spider-man film first. There's no way the comic story could translate into live action, so what they should do is borrow from the animated series. (Raimi did it, so why can't they do it again?).
Introduce MJ in the next film, have her boyfriend be an astronaut on a mission to Mars, have the Space Shuttle (or whatever NASA is using now) crash into the Brooklyn Bridge because something went wrong on the shuttle, have Spider-man save everyone on board and he gets introduced to the symbiote. You don't even have to have the black spider-man story, you can just have it introduced alluding to a Venom stand alone movie.
What was the big Carnage crossover story from forever ago?
That'd be interesting to build to.
I keep thinking you're Irish.
Not entirely sure how this is going to work as what appears to be a villain-centric story.
Dubiously curious to see what will come of this.
Really? Interesting. Any Venom story arcs / trades you'd recommend checking out?
In addition to the rumors I posted in the Marvel thread, I guess this movie is dead now and they are talking about rebooting Spider-man again after Spidey 3.

Yikes. :\
Good trailer. Movie looks promising.
That's gonna be a no from me, dawg.

YES.
Dunno guys. Looks way too shlocky for me. The huge villain laboratory built into the hills of San Francisco, the gadgets that are following him on the motor cycle, the vials of symbiote with a little window so you can see it moving... I was hoping for a true standalone film and it will be really interesting if they are trying to subtly link this to the MCU. But I can see Sony's fingers all over this. Drop it into Raimi's Spider-man movies and you wouldn't see a difference.
Do we know if it's truly rated R yet?
