Hey, I'm a maiden aunt.
This just occurred to me today, and for some reason I think it's hilarious.
I think I'll buy a petticoat.

God I love Jimmy Stewart. All time favorite actor.
That Jeep thing is one of the strangest things I have ever read.
Such a weird, awkward, totally random blow-up.
It's coming from a forum moderator too. (or "supporter") Very uncool of the forum to allow that.
I was surprised by how many people seemed to agree with the guy, that it's none of her business, blah blah blah.
Her post was seemed like she was genuinely just looking for some advice that she could pass along to him.
People are weird.
I have to agree with Duke - even if it was a joke, it wasn't a very funny one.
If I was posting for the very first time on a forum and that was the response I received, I'd never post there again either.
I'm in the 'crazy Jeep guy is comedy gold' camp.
Whether you think it's funny or not is one thing, I just can't believe you guys thought that was a serious reply.
I think the OP will live to fight another day. If that was a reply to my question on a message board I would stay there for life.
You're only reading what you want to read here... I said what's the point of a joke? To be funny is the answer. Not whether it was or was not funny. I laughed at it. A lot. And posted it on my FB, Twitter and other forums.
Who's he trying to be funny to? The forum members. Who is on the wrong side of the joke? The OP.
Allowing this kind of behavior on a forum is unethical if the forum relies on new members for internet traffic and membership fees. That's why I made the post I did. This would result in a temp ban on most forums.
UNLESS, the OP was an alt. And the whole post was staged. Imagine if every new member was treated like this? It wouldn't be too funny after a while.
Yeah, I wouldn't appreciate a response like that to my first post on a forum.
But whatever. Everyone's different.
I don't like unchecked hostility towards me from a person I've just met, regardless of whether it's meant to be funny or not.
No YOU are the one who is wrong!!!!!
Jeez, I think this has been talked about enough.
I agree, MadMan.
I liked how sincere he was. It was the type of thing that could have easily seemed gag-inducingly forced and insincere, but Stewart just has that natural friendliness to him that eliminates any doubt that he was "faking" it.
Being a dog lover myself, and also knowing the feeling of a beloved dog passing away, I cannot contain my tears watching it.
