Borderlands 2 is probably my favorite game in a long, long time in terms of how much I'm playing it overall. My brother and I both bought the season passes with all the DLC's and they keep coming out with more quality stuff that I don't mind paying for. It's just too damn fun.
No Last of Us, what?
"Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor" looks like it could be pretty neat.
Just replayed through Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. I had originally played through it on the 360 back when it came out and they had a PSN sale for the Premium edition which contains the Pigsy's Perfect 10 DLC for only $5 a few weeks ago so I picked it up. I forgot how great Enslaved is from the graphics which still look great, top notch voice acting, character animation and an interesting story. This was my first time playing through the DLC though and I didn't care for it. Pigsy is a great character in the main game but the story in the DLC is weak and the gameplay revolves around trial and error stealth missions where you get insta-killed constantly.
Ninja Theory continues to put out games I have a great time with. Enslaved, Heavenly Sword, and DmC are all fun as hell. Can't wait to see what they come up with next.
Enslaved is great. Perfect length, too. Out of all the companies who make story-based action games, I think Ninja Theory is the best. Enslaved is one of the only story-focused action games that I've even come close to giving a damn about the story and characters. Hell, it might be the only one.
There are too many console games I've loved this last generation so I went with a top twenty:
1. Flower (PS3)
2. Bioshock series (multi) if forced to pick one I'd go with the first
3. Mass Effect series (multi) if forced to pick one I'd go with 2
4. Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise (360)
5. Dead Space series (multi) if forced to pick one I'd go with the first
6. Journey (PS3)
7. Lost Odyssey (360)
8. Fallout 3 (multi)
9. Batman: Arkham Asylum (multi)
10. Limbo (multi)
11. Borderlands series (multi) if forced to pick one I'd go with 2
12. Rayman Origins (multi)
13. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
14. The Walking Dead (multi)
15. Portal 2 (multi)
16. Bastion (360)
17. Rock Band 3 (multi)
18. Blue Dragon (360)
19. Braid (multi)
20. Fez (multi)
"Fez" I loved, but I really felt like it would have been best played when it first came out. Everything was a mystery, and you had the whole of the internet helping each other out and discovering things together.
Well, what the hell, I'm enjoying Halo 4 a lot. The story is typically murky jibberish so far, but the game is really amping up in scale as it thunders along. Love the big rig, the mammoth, the jetpac is a nice new way to gain the drop on some baddies, the weapons are as balanced and tactical as ever.
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, like Journey, is one of those once in a lifetime games that captures all of the elements that makes gaming such a unique and rewarding medium. It's an emotional masterpiece, perfectly combining form and function from beginning to end. I need to edit my list of the best games of last generation, because this one belongs on it. In a word, it is stunning. I can't even remember all of the times in which my jaw dropped, and I actually couldn't believe what I was experiencing.
Really looking forward to playing a next-gen game with a virtual Seattle.

Yeah, methinks Second Son is gonna be the game that makes me get the PS4. SO looking forward to blowing up Daniel_D's house, then hitting a microbrewery.
Some of that really does look like Seattle. Pretty cool.
Infamous: Second Son is at the top of my list, but I sense a move away from the colorful cartoony visuals of the previous games to something approaching grit, more realistic environments. Bad? Not sure, but I'm looking forward to playing it.
edit: It looks truly fab by the way. Amazing vid.
Speaking of Seattle.

My God - I live in a beautiful place.
So I am nearing the end of "Resistance 2". It has some frustrating difficulty spikes at times, but overall it's a pretty darn great shooter. Graphics still hold up incredibly well, and the enemy AI is superb. Honestly though, the stand-out for me is the weapon selection - a bunch of great twists on your standard weapons, everything with great, useful secondary functions. Unlike most shooters where there are one or two weapons you tend to gravitate towards all the time, in this game I want to play with every weapon.
I have also downloaded some great free stuff off PS+ - in the last week I got both "DMC" and "Brothers" for free.
