Well I do not. I think this is the first time I mentioned it, too.
I did, however, mention that I haven't played on a single console since PS1 so I'm definitely not an authority on this matter.
Steam Big Picture mode? Is that the new system, or something else?
New system? It's been around for a year built into steam.

If 1999 was 2-3 years ago, then sure.
I bought a brand new rig in like 2009 or 10, asking them to give me something that would play "Crysis" on max settings. I still lived in town at that point so online multiplayer was a big draw for me, and I wanted to play something visually impressive.
Experienced nothing but problems and incompatability. I couldn't even get "StarCraft 2" to run.
I sold it to a frien and he basically used it for parts.
It's rarer than it was in 1999, but bizarre incompatability issues still pop up with new software, not to mention old software working with new hardware. There is something really assuring knowing that a game in a Wii or PS3 box will play on the relevant system.
I was probably going to go with a PS4 eventually (if the right software comes out for it at the right post-release price), but if Sony chooses not to go down these roads (which, after the public reception of the Xbox One thing, seems all the more likely?), there's really no question. The Xbox One just sounds... cumbersome to use, which is the opposite of a console's appeal.
I do like that playing PC games with an Xbox controller or 4 on a laptop with an HDMI port has made my computer effectively another console. Especially for indies.
so davis, i know what console you're getting

I've been playing an awesome game called Reus. Didn't expect much from it being only $9.99 base price on Steam.
Im gonna be posting/tweeting a lot today on e3 stuff. Sorry in advance.
It's a good thing I'm too busy with school to watch any streams or anything. Because despite not really liking the whole circus, I usually watch the whole a lot of it attentively.
I mean, God willing, I don't blow the rest of tonight watching live feeds or whatever and can just write this paper on modernist Japanese literature.
No youtube stream this year. :( I'll be following live blogs at work since all gaming sites are blocked.

I love this feature:
Quote:
Microsoft is touting Game DVR. The Xbox, like the PlayStation, will record a game while it's playing, and then give the game a dramatic edit that can be shared on the web. It's called Upload Studio. Microsoft is also working with Twitch to show live-streaming games. (Twitch is popular among gamers to stream live videogame tournaments.)
The catch with Witcher 3 is the game uses optional Kinect voice controls, and there'll be some SmartGlass functionality that mirrors in-game functionality.

Not gonna post anything about BF4. It can fuck off.
Also, the only thing that matters was announced today:
Dark Souls II - March 2014.
