I'm not that into tennis any more, but I would absolutely love to go see Wimbledon someday. Probably more than the Super Bowl.
Actually the 2006 final between Federer and Nadal would have been suspended because of darkness if Federer had tied the fifth set at 8-8 so I have no idea what the hell is going on there. See link below.

Federer made clear afterward he was not pleased that play continued despite the low visibility at the end.
"It's rough on me now, obviously, you know, to lose the biggest tournament in the world over maybe a bit of light," he said.
Said Nadal: "In the last game, I didn't see nothing."
Both players figured that if Federer had broken back to 8-8 in the fifth, play would have been suspended until Monday because of darkness.
"It would have been brutal," Federer said.
It didn't happen. Nadal came through.
Raiders?
It may be more of a logistical/topographical issue with being able to get lights that give sufficient lighting to the court and put them in those spaces. The outer courts have no stands or even bleachers I don't believe and many are literally right next to each other. I'm not saying it couldn't be done, but considering they are not making any revenue off of the dozen outer courts the costs may be a bit more than they can afford.

They have apparently added lights only to the centre court with the closed roof. Beyond that, nothing.
Wimbledon has a hard-on for tradition. It's the most stubborn major of all, as evidence by the fact that they don't play on the middle Sunday and don't start play every day until Noon, despite every other major starting at 11.
Were there people watching at the end of this? If so, were they still awake?
If not, at what point would you leave? The game sounded amazing, but after five hours...
Philistine! You leave when it's over. Thousands were standing out on Henman Hill watching the match on the big screen, after seven hours. The fifth set alone has lasted longer than the longest match ever played. God knows how much longer it will go.
This is oddly comforting to know someone else has this issue. Truly, that is me to a tee. It's almost uncanny. I do the same exact shit two or three times a year when I start feeling guilty because I realize people my same age have families and have taken on the adult role by now. Paying bills on time, deferring my loans like a good little indebted girl, cleaning, not letting dishes stack up, even down to the epic grocery shopping sprees believing I will suddenly be able to cook all my meals myself despite not actually having learned how to cook anything.
I'm a moron.

Yeah, I changed my avatar based on it.
Some things I can handle (cooking, for example) but I will put off anything requiring a phone call for months.
Now that I'm working on my house, I scrubbed the kitchen with manic energy until it sparkled, and yet, after a couple of weeks, it got dirty again. Suddenly the enthusiasm is gone.
Isner wins, 70-68. I repeat myself, Jesus H. Christ.
So this is kind of a deal:
A couple of years ago, I was 60 pounds heavier than I am right now.
at least you know it's your dirt this time.
and i don't know what it is about phone calls that i can't handle, but i was supposed to get new glasses in december. and i was supposed to reschedule a dentist appointment in february. it just always seems like tomorrow would be better.
