Okay, so I've noticed that when it snows outside, after I get drunk and crash at a friend's house I then head home and shovel early in the morning. Why the hell is that, I really donno. But I had the Great Escape theme music stuck in my head while doing it-I really need to finally finish watching that movie.

Plus the fact that I realized while shoveling that when the world finally comes to an end, and shit is burning down, and the body count is rising, somewhere on some random loud speakers The Beach Boys "Wouldn't Be Nice?" will play. In an ironic fashion that will make me, in my drunken stupor, kicking back watching the world go to hell, crack a rather large stupid grin.

Nah, I woke up at 5 am sober. But I did watch an X-Files episode at 1 am while drunk. It starred Lili Taylor, and she played a blind woman who had this ability to see people far away in her head. From what I recall, it was quite good.

Holy freaking winter storm. I grew up in Michigan, and I've still never seen this much snow in my life. And we're getting 12-16 more inches today. I mean... there's nowhere to put it. The embankments are as high as they can go without collapsing. My drive into work this morning was terrifying-- unclear roads, fishtailing, and I passed over a dozen accidents. I'm not a huge wimp, but hitting my brakes and having nothing happen is scary.

And they're probably sending us all home again in about four hours, when the snow starts up.

We haven't had mail since Friday. And the trash didn't get collected today. It's like a world without government. (For the record, it's not empowering. It's just annoying.)

Well, we're finally getting some snow, and now my evening class (history) is cancelled. I'm a bit mixed about this. We have our first exam tonight (well, not anymore), and normally I'd be dancing about getting to put that off another week, but the truth is I had studied most of the day between classes and felt really prepared. I don't want to do that again. So, yay for not having to drive to school in these conditions and getting to hang out with my family instead, but boo for having to do a brief study session for a second time next week.

I haven't crocheted anything since September (I burned myself out making stuff for my friend's baby) and I just had to restart this pattern four times, because it's like my fingers wouldn't work right. I think I have it now, but it's a little frustrating. I know how to do this.

only saw about four inches overnight. got that taken care of rather easily, should be easy to keep up with it from here on out. supposed to stop around 7 tonight.

hopefully we can go another 17 years without a major blizzard.

Buzz is kinda like Wave, but in your inbox. It's Twitter/Facebook-style posting (without a character limit) in a clean and dedicated interface. So far, I'm really digging it.
