The Soft Boys - "Kingdom of Love"
Holy crap, the newest Farflung album, A Wound in Eternity, is f'ing brilliant.
Epic stoner/space rock with some of the best guitar tone and riffs around.
These guys are completely untouchable.

New Farflung = album of the year so far.
My God...it is fantastic.
Okkervil River - "Bruce Wayne Campbell Interviewed On The Roof Of The Chelsea Hotel, 1979"
^Funny song title. :)
I like long, funny song titles. One of my old bands had a song/album called:
"Doctor Sloth and Chet the Mystery Man, as the Bassneck Masturbaters, Explain How to Release the Inner Parasite Through Conjuration of the Noise Demon."
We were called The Bassneck Masturbaters. I was Chet the Mystery Man, and my friend Ronny was Doctor Sloth. We both played bass and we were accompanied by an Amiga 2000.
Good times.

This Farflung album continues to impress the hell out of me. It is so undeniably brilliant, and so mind-numbingly amazing that I can hardly believe it actually exists. It's like someone crawled inside my head and recorded the exact album I wanted to listen to.
Nas - "N.Y. State of Mind"
Silver Shrooms, by Farflung.
I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy...
Unborn Planet, Farflung
If this album grew a mouth and ate all of my other MP3s, I really wouldn't mind.
"Just Like Tom Thumb Blues" - Nina Simone
Surprisingly excellent, not because it's Nina (whom I love), but because I generally don't care for Dylan covers.
Ride--"Leave Them All Behind"
Computer Vs. Banjo - "Give Up On Ghosts"
Murray Head - One Night In Bangkok
Cannon in D Major - Buddy Emmons
This dude can play the steel...
Flying Lotus - RobertaFlack (Feat Dolly)
Blam Blam-Killer Mike. This song is just simply awesome funky rap with a great beat. Even though the song track to the ATHF movie is merely solid at best.
David Axelrod - The Mental Traveler
Combines some fabulous stereophonic production with all that makes Axelrod awesome (those things mostly being great horn accents and a full on free flowing electric guitar in the middle). I especially like the ways he uses altered distortions and different instruments to echo his hook riff.
Suck, the only version I could find is someone playing Audiosurf. Oh well, check it.
Boulder to Birmingham - Emmylou Harris
Beautiful song.
Charles Mingus -- "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat"
Song for my Father - Horace Silver
classic
Tim Hardin's 1 and 2 straight through. How awesome is this guy?
