Pretty awesome.
SWEET
I posted some cool news in the Daredevil thread about FOX and MARVEL exchanging character rights!
Reeeally, really interesting here. 20th Century Fox and Marvel are looking to broker a deal that would have them trading characters.
So the deadline for Daredevil's rights is this October. If they don't start shooting by then, they lose the rights back to Marvel/Disney. Fox is scrambling to extend the deadline because production is under way. They have a script (based on Frank Miller's "Born Again" story, gonna be very gritty 70s thriller type, possibly R-rated), they have a director (Joe Carnahan), but they don't have a Matt Murdock and obviously they're not ready to shoot.
So Marvel Studios offered them a new negotiation: Fox gets more time to make this Daredevil, on the condition that, though Fox gets to keep the Fantastic Four rights until it's reverted back, Marvel gets to use peripheral FF characters like Silver Surfer, Galactus and the Skrulls immediately.
Honestly, I think this is a win-win for Marvel. It would be great to see FF's cosmic characters populate Guardians of the Galaxy or the Avengers sequel should they go that way.
And Daredevil would have a better chance in the style Fox wants to do it anyway, rather than the more family-friendly tone that a Disney/Marvel Studios production would take DD.
Oops! Beaten to the punch.
LOL
Also, if Fox's next Daredevil is a bust, Marvel would/could appear blameless and reboot it at their leisure.
Maybe not.
Anyway, that reads as great news to me!
Hollywood Reporter says Joss Whedon will write and direct Avengers 2.
He's also creating a new TV series set in the Marvel universe. Maybe this one won't be cancelled.
Good good.
I hope the ABC show is Runaways. That would make so much more sense than a feature film.
This is awesome

Makes sense why comic books aren't popular at all in CO.
Vin Diesel is campaigning himself to play The Vision in Avengers 2.
Avengers 2 release date is confirmed as May 1, 2015.
Hollywood Reporter says James Gunn (Slither, Super) is Marvel's choice to direct Guardians of the Galaxy.
Should that not work, they're also looking at Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden (Half Nelson, Sugar), which would be an interesting choice.
Peyton Reed is another option, but they want Gunn.
So I guess expect a Nathan Fillion appearance then.
Well, Joss Whedon and James Gunn are friends, so it makes sense.
James Gunn would be amazing.
