It's a great thing. Can't stop playing this game. 60 hours in.

So yes, that new "SSX" game looks awesome. I hope they don't mess with the trick system too much.
Mastering a character in those games is oh-so-satisfying.
Fallout 3.
Rage is definitely on my to buy list. Aliens: Colonial Marines will not be bad, but it's odd how that video is virtually more convincing when there are no aliens and it's just suspenseful silence, but perhaps that is exactly how it's supposed to be.
Yeh doubts are definitely warranted based on Sega’s track record and the Alien games that have been released over the years. The good news is this is Gearbox. (Borderlands) The only one that truly impressed was the first; both with atmosphere in the single player and in multiplayer. The difference with this game is it will have co-op, which will take the edge off if you’re playing with other players (I always was scared shitless playing any Alien game by myself as the marine)
Oh ferr suuure. I'll wait at this point though for a GoY edition with all the DLC. I'm only guessing the in game content is even MORE involved than the previous game, so I'll take a break and play something in between before I move on.
I'm really trying to stick with my "don't buy a new game until you're done with the one you're playing" plan. Although Batman is in 2 weeks and Uncharted is in 4. :|
Also, funny thing about Rage: It will require 25GB of HDD and 3 Discs on Xbox 360
Spent the past two days at my friend's house playing 3 player Heroes of Newerth and then played another type of game like it that came out on steam that I can't remember the name of. They are fun games to play while in the same room as other people playing them.
Seems feasible that it's that big a game. "Fallout 3" size world with crazy good graphics. Yeah, I can see that.
I guess a large part of the game is racing as well.
The media embargo is pretty annoying though. I mean, I'll buy it anyways because id and all, but I really would like to read some reviews first, even if video game reviews are universally horrible.
I want to buy "Forza 4", but at the same time it seems weird when I wasn't even close to completing "Forza 3".
Completing games is overrated.
I dunno...would you say the same about books, movies or music?
Or are you in the "games aren't worthy of serious thought/criticism" crowd?
I wouldn't say that about books or movies, typically. I'm not even sure what that would mean about music. But games are not books, movies, or music. They're their own thang.
I can get pretty serious about video games, but in a way that has almost nothing to do with completion of any given game.
There's a difference between completing the main story, and getting 100% completion. I will admit, I haven't finished the main story on many games, but that was because I was sick of them. However, I own several games that I really enjoy, but have not, and probably will not get 100% completion; Fallout New Vegas, GoW III, Mass Effect 2, etc.
A good example from 'back in the day' is Final Fantasy VII. Many people beat the game, but didn't come close to completing it. You had to be some kind of crazy to breed chocobos, get Knights of the Round Table, take out Emerald and Ruby Weapon. Yes, I am that kind of crazy.
Anyways, if you're playing a game, and you get sick and tired of it, don't force yourself to complete it for completeness sake. Hell, I made it to the final boss fight in the last Final Fantasy game, and didn't even bother initiating it because I was so sick and goddamned tired of that fucking combat system.
100% is silliness for most games to me.
Not so important with racers methinks. There's no story, no narrative arc to be enveloped in, and remain enveloped in so one can take a break. Of course, there's a risk to just forget about said game and go on to newer things and I suppose one loses some skills too. Like with a fifa game, forza 4 can said to last forever because lap times can always be improved, online competitors can always be found. Yep, sometimes a game like Vanquish is just what the doctor ordered. A few hours of furious blastin' and the safe knowledge that we won't have to bother again.
Finished that Outcast Chinese Sim DLC in Fallout 3... then some of the outcasts turned on me! I had to fight them off. That was a sweet weapons score though. I am finally at the point in the game where I can use 100% power weapons and not worry about ammo and money. I have over 1400 caps.
I think I found another DLC spot. The Car Tunnel at the bottom right hand porition of the map. That poor robot got destroyed. :(
Passed 65 hours total play time to reach #7 on my all time most played PC game.
