I've been trying to pinpoint why the dynamic at my work between me (property management) and my contractors feels so familiar.
I just figured it out-- it's exactly the dynamic I had with my more squirrelly of my male students when I was a high school teacher.

Booking an appointment to see a doctor tomorrow.
I've had this recurring problem with my neck, and this time it's so bad I just can't take it any more. Admittedly I should have had it checked out sooner, but I figured it was probably some kind of muscle spasm and was something for which nothing could really be done.
Basically every couple of months I'll be doing some menial task (it has happened while brushing my teeth, drying my hair, opening bottles, even just getting out of bed) and I'll feel a deep twinge in my neck. This is followed by 4-5 days of INTENSE pain. Right now my head is tilted about 5 degrees to the left, and I cannot straighten it. I also cannot turn my head to the right more than 5 or 10 degrees.
This latest episode was brought on when I was de-corking a bottle of wine.
I just realized that after tonight, I will have had pizza 5 times this week.
And I'm not complaining at all.
One of my patients/tenants just called me in a dither complaining that one of his neighbors, who is black, just offered him a ride, and he could have taken him anywhere in the city and killed him.
He just wants to let us know.
I honestly had no idea what to say. I finally told him I would write it up for his file if he wanted, but reminded him to always be polite to his neighbors.
