GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY in 2014

This should be fun. The Avengers DVD will have a new short film about Lizzy Kaplan and Jesse Bradford going on a Bonnie & Clyde crime spree after finding a Chitauri soldier's gun during the climactic battle, and 2 SHIELD agents tasked to capture them are hot on their tail.
Lizzy Caplan is so hot.
Oh and a huge thumbs up from me re: Guardians of the Galaxy being the 2014 Marvel film. Holy schnikes that would be exciting.
Didn't Latino Review say before it was definitely going to be Black Panther? Now it's Guardians of the Galaxy. Me thinks there's no real idea what it'll be.
Cool. EW says this will be roughly three times longer than the previous One Shots. And now they're exploring the possibility of developing short films for the more minor Marvel characters. Although the EW article wasn't clear whether these shorts would be on just the DVDs or if they'd go in theaters in front of feature-length films.
It could be a great way for some more eccentric and/or big name directors involved who might otherwise not do a comic book movie; let them experiment with the genre.
Great Lakes Avengers here we come!
I would have preferred leaving Guardians of the Galaxy alone. One big superhero team is enough.
No, fuck that, Raiders. I want to see Rocket Raccoon onscreen.
If they can get the Guardians of the Galaxy onscreen and then do The Thanos Imperative arc, that just might be the most epic superhero (or scifi) flick ever.
That and it'd be a great Rocket Raccoon vehicle.
Josh Trank to helm FF4 reboot and David Slade is out of Daredevil update.

FF4 = Fantastic Four?
Yessir.
Mikkelsen departs Thor 2 due to conflicts with the Hannibal TV show.

Nice. Despite having few problems with the previous two films or Whedon's turn with the character, I like that Black seems to be taking a completely fresh take on things everywhere he can.
Yeah, that's the Extremis armour.
Marvel also officially announced their upcoming slate with some new titles and Guardians of the Galaxy, looking like this:
2013
- Iron Man 3 - May 3rd
- Thor: The Dark World - November 8th
2014
- Captain America: The Winter Soldier - April 4th
- Guardians of the Galaxy - August 1st
And then Feige also brought along Edgar Wright to show off some test footage for Ant-Man, basically confirming they're going to make it.
Woo!
Awesome, though I hope that:
a) Ant Man comes out somewhere in that time period, and continuing that thought...
b) they bring some other heroes into the game so we're not restricted to just Iron Man, Thor and Captain America movies with a team-up thrown in once in a while for good measure.
Have there been any more details on Guardians of the Galaxy? Is it the next Avengers team-up movie, or is it a whole new set of characters, with a story crossing over onto the Earth heroes stuff?
The description of the Ant-Man test footage out on the web sounds fantastic. Sounds just like the kind of action scene I hoped Wright would do. I wonder if that footage will ever make it online.
A little anti-climatic that they do all this and then don't announce at least a release date (I assume sometime in 2015).

I'll have to trust Marvel on this one!
Especially if they hired someone like Del Toro to direct. But I think he still has hopes for Hellboy 3.
Small spoiler on the possible direction of this flick:

Thomas Jane makes a Punisher short.
Hollywood Reporter says Anthony Mackie is in talks to play Falcon in The Winter Soldier.
Iron Man 3 trailer looked terrific. Ben Kingsley was unrecognizable.
