Will most def be buying it. Too bad it's still the same engine and some things look rather reminiscent of Crysis 2 for instance. Color scheme looks to opt for desaturated browns, greys and blues.
EDIT: Although supposedly they've moved beyond the Modern Warfare 2 engine.

Different strategy is required, and I find the sci-fi universe of "Halo" the be much more appealing than constantly reliving 9/11 reprisal.
Maybe it's a better game, or more unique or whatever, but it's still feeding the zeitgeist.

No. What I'm saying is that I'm sick of seeing heavily advertised mainstream games that seem to tacitly endorse and glorify the American tendency to wage constant warfare across the globe. I look at the commercials for MW and I see little more than propaganda. Halo's less offensive, certainly, or something like Deus Ex or Doom or whatever.
This reminds me of the time NickGlass was pissing on Monopoly for endorsing America's crooked, crippling capitalistic spirit. Though I will concede that once virtual reality and cinematics enter into it, it becomes a bit messier.Quote:

I do find the glorification of the American military in these games quite bothersome, as well as how they seem to demonize entire nations based on the acts of a few extremists (you know, like what the media does already).
Though I do subscribe to the "it's just a game" philosophy, I can't help but find the source of this anger towards just about every Muslim/Middle Eastern nation pretty creepy.
America also seems to have a serious (perhaps entirely justified?) persecution complex.
I like the gameplay mechanics of the Modern Warfare games much more than Halo's.
But I was merely saying that given that in Halo you play a Marine defending your homeland in a war against "others," and a large chunk of Modern Warfare is a ridiculous borderline post-apocalyptic sci-fi scenario, I'm inclined to say that their differences in militaristic attitude are negligible.

MW2 specifically addresses the stupidity of a full-scale invasion as a response to a terrorist attack (and even has an "American inside job" twist to the terrorist attacks worthy of your love), and you constantly ping-pong between several different soldiers throughout the game because the supposedly heroic characters you play keep dying, to show the real casualty of war.
Modern warfare games are as played out as World War 2 warfare games... Stop supporting them and they'll go away.
