No Age - "Sun Spots"
Alcest -- "Souvenirs d'un autre monde"
Oh my. Really beautiful and ethereal post-shoegaze. Check the myspace.
Burial - Archangel
Best album of 2007, Metacritic? Really?
Portishead - "We Carry On"
Second time through Third and it's already growing on me. It's a bit more stripped down and, let's say, basic than their other two albums, but they're very much in control of their sound and comfortable with what they do. And yeah, I wish more bands would rip off Silver Apples.
Pet Shop Boys - Tonight if Forever
I never tire of these guys.
Jesu -- "Tired of Me"
This song kicks my ass, to the EXTREME.
Amusement Parks on Fire - A Star is Born
As I Lay Dying - Losing Sight
Death From Above 1979 - "Romantic Rights"
Bah, Burial pwns you all. I like the s/t better than Untrue, but they're both fantastic and addictive as hell.
_________
Prince - "Uptown"
Chromatics - Running Up That Hill
Great album. If I ever directed a giallo, I'd use "The Killing Spree" as its theme.
Hala Strana -Stria
Food - "Steady Eddie"
A Sunny Day in Glasgow -- "5 15 Train"
Derek's '07 thread made me lose about $70 dollars. This and the Sunset Rubdown are proving to have the best staying power...
Smokey Robinson & the Miracles - "Way Over There"
oy, mon amour... I need a drink.
Clinic - The Witch (Made To Measure)
Ever since oink died I have been so behind on the leaks, I have been waiting for this album for a while.
HIM - Join Me in Death
Coincidentally...
Sunny Day in Glasgow - "Ghost in the Graveyard"
Agreed w/ dreamdead and Derek on the praise. Honestly, if Scribble... was a new My Bloody Valentine album, I probably wouldn't be disappointed by it (although Loveless is obviously better). It's really that good.
Coaltar of the Deepers -- "Prophet Proved"
Love the guitar feedback here...
Judy Henske - Hooka Tooka
