Yes, I was thinking they feel like rough sketches. I kind of enjoy it, though. There are some nice sounds, even if it never amounts to much. The whole thing is short and fleeting. Not great, but it'll do until the new album. :)

Rilo Kiley - Under the Blacklight
This album was so underrated.
I thought it got its fair share of love last year with several critics calling them the modern Fleetwood Mac (and meant that as a compliment). I really like The Execution of All Things and there are some flashes of greatness on More Adventurous, but I really couldn't get into that one. If you like Rilo Kiley, or more importantly Stars, you should check out Headlight's Some Racing, Some Stopping. I like it better than either of those bands recent albums, though not quite as much as Set Yourself on Fire.
I thought Under The Blacklight was okay, but I think it has a few real gems. I definitely found a song like "Dejalo" to be more fun and insanely catchy/addictive than most other things last year.
"Gimme Danger" - The Stooges
Huh. *shrug* Well that just supports my conviction that it was inexplicably underrated. Hell, I'd probably rather listen to it four out of five times over the merely "pretty good" In Rainbows that everyone slathered with praise last year.
Died Pretty - "Doused"
Mars Arizona (DFA Remix), Blues Explosion
