So, no one here got Starcraft 2?
I s'pose then you'd appreciate the fact that years ago I actually contributed a song to one of the remix packs for the Ur-Quan Masters Open Source StarCon2 project over on Sourceforge.net.
I played an hour or so of Costume Quest and all I have to say is YES, more games like this please.
I'm probably not gonna buy any new PS3 games until Arkham City comes out. Thinking of buying RE2 on PSN. Worth it?
Its a damn good game.
Borderlands update: so after beating the game, an option popped up to move to playthrough 2. Out of curiousity, I started it. Right from the get-go, this is the difficult setting. Wow. Getting my assed kicked. Now the better weapons are rolling in...this game is improving what was a diminishing score.
Wonder how fun (or annoying) Fallout is in Hardcore mode. You have to eat and drink if you want to live, and if you get crippled, a simple stimpack or sleeping won't make you healthy. You either need a "Doctor Bag" or see one.
Got a late birthday gift certificate. Think I'm going to pick up New Vegas today. Woo hoo!
Via a friend's borrowed Nintendo DS, I had an opportunity to try Professor Layton and the Unwound future. My what a charming little adventure it seems. Very cool, a bit kiddie, but very cool.
Red Dead Redemption is so much better than GTA4. I'm actually watching the cut scenes in this one.
Wish I could've gotten into RDR...
But Fallout: NV I am totally into. 10 hours in and I'm taking my time with this one. I'll say it again... The sidequests are so much better this time around. More original, more complicated, and more consequences. There aren't too many of the "go and find me some supplies, fight some stupid geckos, and then drop off supplies" missions.
I thought the two-bit characterizations and comic book-y tropes of Red Dead to be almost as juvenile and poorly done as that in GTA, to be honest. The game itself is a lot more streamlined and well, fun though, I'll give it that. I played a lot of poker in that game as well.
I've been playing Arkham Asylum all day. I'm ashamed that it took me this long to give this game a go. I'm just so sick of comic book adaptations when it comes to films that I figured that would carry over to games as well. Thankfully, I was wrong. This game is fantastic. Great art, solid action, cool puzzles, not too hard, not too easy. I actually bought the game for my son for his birthday, but told him I'd have to play it first to see if it was too mature for him. After playing through the Scarecrow sequence this evening (which was freakin brilliant), there's no doubt that I'll have to take him to the store and let him pick out something different. I feel bad, because he was excited, but this is not a game for a nine-year-old. At least, not my nine-year-old.
Consider me now practically salivating for Arkham City. Can't believe I have to wait an entire year.
Awesome!!
Sorry for the disappointment your son's feeling, KF, but I am still glad that you're playing and enjoying it.
I thought it was stellar.
And having Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill voice Batman and Joker was very cool.
I predict Spinal gets killed by geckos and goes to normal mode by Tuesday. haha.
Currently I can look for a sexbot and carry out bounties for a casino. Hmmm....
