Brainfreeze (Breaks) is an incredible album.

yep, it was the same sort of concept where they only use the original vintage 45"s...they basically went through every era and genre...indian music, south american stuff, soul, jazz, folk, metal, hip hop, even heard some flaming lips, foo fighters, aliyah, and all kinds of other crazy stuff.
Andrew Bird - "Armchairs"

Archers of Loaf - Web In Front
Panthu du Prince -- "Saturn Prode"
And this is enough to make me purchase the album.
Mobb Deep - "Temperature's Rising"
Indeed. One of my favorite songs and albums of last year. []

Penguin Cafe Orchestra...Self-titled album on a loop, all afternoon. Absolutely amazing.
Whoever mentioned these guys (Llopin and maybe someone else?), please identify yourself so I can rep you accordingly. I also heard Music From the Penguin Cafe, which is great, but not on par with the s/t. Any other albums from them that are worth checking out?
PCO's "Cutting Branches for a Temporary Shelter" was played at one point during my graduation last year, at my request. I really, really need to hear their debut.
_____
Bongwater - David Bowie Wants Ideas
Brilliant.
Listening to Battles and doing a fluid dynamics problem set. Rawk.
Tone Bank Jungle, Holy Fuck
Groundation - Babylon Rule Dem
Wow, this is some good reggae.
Just listened to a handful of Penguin Cafe Orchestra tracks. Nice, but of the ones I caught, the only one I could probably listen to more than once is Air a Danser.
I can see the appeal for Archers of Loaf but they don't quite do it for me.
Max Richter - On the Nature of Daylight
Bobby Beausoliel - Lucifer Rising OST
the Goslings - Mew
New album, peeps.
Groundation, What Could Have Been
Man, these guys are just too awesome.
It's some of the most interesting and layered reggae I've ever heard.
Nick Drake - "Blossom"
King Sunny Adé - Samba/E Falaba Lewe
Some of the best (slide) guitaring I've ever heard.
The Goslings - "Parsley Halo"
The Beatles - "Hey Bulldog"
Jigsaw Falling Into Place-Radiohead. I love everything about this song. And the vidoe is awesome as well. Despite covering over albums for my review thread In Rainbows and The Chronic by Dr. Dre are the two albums I've listened to the most over the past month.
The Magnetic Fields - Too Drunk To Dream
