I turned and stared, and took stock of the poor people sitting right next to her, all of whom seemed fed up. But, nobody said a word to her, because this was happening, after all, in Minnesota.

She stood and got off the bus, always screaming at the person on the other end. I watched her and smirked, a little relieved that she'd gone. She crossed the street against the light, hips swinging, arms swinging, she was punching the air around her. Then she stopped in the cross-walk, apparently unable to argue and walk at the same time. She stopped traffic and cars honked at her.

As the bus left her, I could only think, "Poor stupid thing."

This... is kind of a daily thing over here. I suppose you should be lucky that something like that struck you as out of the ordinary.

Those people are stupid.

Which reminds me that I should probably finish Season 1 of 30 Rock. I started a year ago, and then they removed the episodes from NBC.com's website. Then I forgot to rent any of the seasons after that.

My parsley has come back from last year. I might plant some more herbs (basil, cilantro, mint, etc.) that I buy as seedlings, since I didn't start any from seed this year.

Damn. Am I too late for the Newsradio praise-showering party? It amazes me how this show has stayed under the radar for so long. I mean, it was The Office before The Office was The Office. But better in every conceivable way. Most underrated sitcom ever.

When does NewsRadio get good? After all the excitement here, I watched the first two episodes online and was not blown away.

Its best season was season 4. The show really came into its own about midway through season 2 and only got better through season 3 and into 4. But then, I thought it was pretty solid from the start.

The first season is only 7 episodes. Give it that much of a chance and if you still don't like it, I'm afraid you have no sense of humor. ;)

It doesn't rely heavily on a metastory, so I don't think you have to watch them all in order. Try starting on season 2 or 3.

Episode 3 is the one where Bill gives up smoking while Dave gives up coffee. It really didn't take long for this show to get good. Give it at least one more episode.

Ditto what others have said about Newsradio. The cigarettes and coffee episode was wonderful, as was everything save for the final season which crept its way to a slow death. Considering the way that you consumed Angel and Buffy, I should only expect the awesome of this show to win you over.

Tomorrow I turn in the last long essay of the semester. I expect to watch at least one film as a reward, since nothing's been watched for the past week save for a rewatch of Dreyer's Passion of Joan of Arc with thefourthwall. I miss films. :sad:
