Too bad the rest of the album goes considerably downhill (still some other highlights, tho).
____________
Arthur Russell - "Lucky Cloud"
Printable View
The Octopus Project – "Exploding Snowhorse"
George Jones - He Stopped Loving Her Today.
My lord, what a sad song.
Vampire Weekend - "M79"
Wasn't feeling this album much through three tracks, but after this and "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa", I'm starting to reconsider.
Also listened to the new Atlas Sound (Bradford Cox of Deerhunter) album and it delivers. It basically sounds like Cryptograms B-sides, so approach accordingly.
No Age - "My Life's Alright Without You"
Interesting. Subsequent listens will determine if it's great.
"The Harder They Come" Soundtrack
currently: Desmond Dekker - 007
Money for Sex, Del the Funkee Homosapian
Beirut - "My Night with the Prostitute From Marseille"
I'm Leaving You Because I Don't Love You, Jens Lekman
Swing Out Sister - "Am I the Same Girl?"
Deerhoof - Frenzied Handsome, Hello!
Reveille is still probably my favorite Deerhoof album.
Ben Gibbard - "This Temporary Life"
Maiou - "A Bird in the Hand"
Alfred Schnittke - The Cloak
Evangelicals - "Skeleton Man"
Ben Folds Five - "Smoke"
Jens Lekman - "Rocky Dennis' Farewell Song"
Jay Reatard - "My Shadow"
Can't wait for his live show next month.
International Harvester - "Sommarlåten (The Summer Song)"
Best. 3-min jam. Ever.
Destroyer - Rivers
The Rat-The Walkmen. I've heard this song a million times and it has yet to get old. I really should check out more of their work, especially since I liked this and Little House of Savages.
Sunny Day in Glasgow - "No. 6 Von Karman Street"
Only finally heard this yesterday, and it's already close to being my favorite album from last year.
