You know what game I actually thought was kind of good once you got past all the hooplah of the controversy it inspired?
"Manhunt".
I never played the sequel, but the original was one of the better titles that came out when that wave of "everything must have STEALTH gameplay" came around about 5 years ago.
Yeah, I love that freaking game. I played it through on every difficulty several times through. Manhunt 2, not so much. At least, not the official release. The visual filters ruined that game. The BETA that was released to Torrents was much more fun -- and astonishingly gruesome at times.Quote:

Just went to my uncle's place to wish my cousin a happy birthday, and I got to play "ODST" for the first time.
It's a heck of a lot of fun. I played about 20 minutes, and if the campaign stays at that quality it may even be a contender for my favorite "Halo" game.
And man, that musical score! FANTASTIC. I almost want to get the soundtrack album.
However, despite all this, I'm going to wait for a price drop before I get it. I just don't play multiplayer often enough to warrant $70 on that game, since the campaign is like 4-5 hours long.

For me it's easy. I'm buying Borderlands over Modern Warfare 2 (on PC). You console players won't have to deal with this, but MW2 won't support dedicated server, or mods, and will rely on matchmaking for online play. This move is so fucking lame.Quote:

Yup. it's gonna be fun. The rumor is you no longer have unlimited pistol ammo, hence the use for melee weapons.
I still think Valve screwed themselves a bit with how they screwed over their own loyal fanbase with the first "L4D" game.

I don't get the Valve screwing over their fanbase thing. As far as I know, Left 4 Dead 1 will still be supported. So far we got 2 new versus maps, a new survival mode and a new campaign. And I'm sure they will add more new campaigns in the future to link the stories of L4D1 & 2 together.
Valve hasn't delivered near the amount of content they promised for "L4D 1".
A lot of fans, columns and magazines (both online and paper-published) are saying that the "Left 4 Dead 2" content they've seen and tested looks suspiciously like the content that was sneak-peeked for the first game as DLC.
Yeah, but they are not stopping the support of Left 4 Dead 1 even though L4D2 is coming out. There is more content coming according to their plan. The only difference is they will support 2 L4D games now. I think you just have to put a little trust in Valve.

Pretty sure Valve already admitted as much that they were developing the levels for DLC, then realized that they created so much new content that they would work better as a new game altogether. Since it looks really good and it would've cost as much as a new game to download all of the DLCs anyway, I don't think most fans feel screwed.Quote:
