No, because child development is unique in every child. This is why I think the large chunk of the "burden" is on the parents... most of the time. They should know their child best, they should know what's the appropriate age in relation to the child's understanding.

The way I see it, though, it's a good thing to have centers or publications where teens--as soon as they're starting to get curious--can ask whatever they want and get a straight answer without fear of being judged or scolded at, like a school sex ed class would.

That particular event was set up in a previous book, with the idea that werewolves "attach" immediately and permanently to an object of affection, regardless of age. It weirds out most of the main characters. If the object of affection is a child, which is shown twice, then the attachment isn't sexual to begin with, but more of an intense devotion, big-brother-like.

So, the werewolf in question spends several books pining for our heroine, before attaching to her new-born child and forgetting all former infatuations. The heroine has a royal fit about it, too.

Seriously, though, if there had been a reasonably good resource for sex ed (my parents definitely did not count), then I'd probably be a better-adjusted human being.

Well, in my state, oral sex is against the law. Not saying that really stops many girls, or guys, I know but it is rather interesting. It would probably preclude them from discussing it is sex ed classes.

Yeah, I was told about this, too. Nearly mentioned it on the thing above (which doesn't sound... quite as bad when you say it) but decided to focus on that one thing.

Combined with all my friends saying they're written like fast-and-testimony meetings, these books sound like the weirdest things in the world. I'm getting kind of a trainwreck-desire to read them.

Erm... I'm of a very conservative and sexually-prohibitive religion, which frankly and completely forbids sexual contact before marriage.

And yet, almost all the women I know will perform oral sex on their husbands. They're not embarassed about it, nor should they be.

The only girls/women I've ever known who say that they would never do it seem to think it's something only hookers do.

That said, none of the women I know will do anal, and yet most of them admit that they tried to do it, but found it too painful/embarassing/disgusting.

Okay. So am I, my entire life, and I don't know any who wouldn't.

Am I just friends with skanks and you're friends with virgins? I dunno. Our friends are not a good way to gauge the world. I don't know anyone who likes hockey, but I'm pretty sure in saying a lot of people do.

EDIT: Or just read melville's post, I guess :lol:
