I only mean deep in that it gives you many options. I don't play very many video games because I often don't like them. And I understand your feelings: I find that some of the games I have played on the XBLA are among the best that the console has to offer (namely, Geometry Wars 2: Retro Evolved and OutRun Online Arcade).Quote:

Battlefield 1943 is some of the most fun I have had online in a video game in a while. I just love that now we can just quickly download "arcade" games that have the graphics and deep gameplay that this game offers. Nothing beats storming into a base on a jeep and taking out everyone and capturing the flag.

I'm playing "The Maw" right now.
It's good, but it really shows that it's DLC. Art direction is solid, great character designs, but graphics are bland and glitchy, very limited sound bank, levels are sparse and all look pretty similar.
As I said, it's good, but it's certainly not up with the best in XBLA content. I wish they had gone with a more cartoony look, rather than using 3D models with poor texturing.
Last night I figured out what an evil game Prototype is. I spent 3 hours accomplishing nothing, just running around and getting into fights with tanks, mutants, soldiers, helicopters, etc.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 looks so awesome.

Microsoft just announced Halo Legends. It's a collection of seven short animated films set in the Halo universe. Very much like The Animatrix. These are the five production companies that will make the short films: Bones, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G., Studio4 C, and Toei Animation. Another attempt of Microsoft trying to crack the Japanese gaming market?
Well, Resistance: Fall of Man was a fucking blast. The initial stages made it look like I was playing Call of Duty part one again, but it really ramped up in scale and visual splendor. No, not quite Killzone 2, but pretty strong all the same. Some awesome weapons such as the Hedgehog and Air-fire grenade. Loved the english setting.
I can't remember the last game I was as pissed off at as I was at Mirrors Edge last night.

Oh yeah. The Giantbomb guys have been talking this up for some time. It sounds as if it plays exactly like Hellgate: London should've played: like a modern 3D Diabloesque loot and kill action RPG.
just finished final fantasy 4 for ds. i mentioned before how freaking hard it is compared to the original snes version. that's true except for the final boss. zeromus here is a joke. (then again, the original zeromus is programmed to be such a bitch.)
Bought Mirrors Edge yesterday, beat it today. Glad it was short, that combat was terrible. Everything else was cool though.
Thankfully the combat in Mirror's Edge is not really all that immersive. It's more pattern-based than anything. I like not having an equip button, a reload button, a lock-on button, a zoom button, etc. I get so flustered.
Update: Assassin's Creed is totally wicked cool. People say it gets old. I'm hoping not, because it's very cool so far (just hit Damascus).
Kung Fu Panda is much like the film: well-designed, but definitely geared towards children in its simple functionality. Still, charming I guess. I doubt I'll play it much, but with Lego Indy Jones, which is a blast, it was only 15 bucks, so no big loss.
I really enjoyed it until the end even though the fighting's not very good, simply because running fast and jumping between buildings is the best thing you can do in a video game.Quote:
