Suzanne Vega - "Tired of Sleeping"
"My Cool"--Adam Tensta
But unfortunately I can't find the mp3 anywhere, so I have to do this via youtube or myspace. (If anyone knows where to get it, tell me!)
The Streets - Blinded by the Lights
Friends - Ween
I like the album version more than the EP version. It is a little less Pet Shop Boys sounding, and a little more Ween-like.
This is a great album.
The Tear Garden - Romulus and Venus
Change (in the house of flies)- Deftones
I wish the band would have continued on in this vein. While I still enjoy some Skinny Puppy, and I really like a lot of The Legendary Pink Dots stuff, some of their music sounds far too dated now to listen to without chuckling a bit. Last Man to Fly, however, is totally timeless. Hyperform and The Running Man are two of the best album openers of all time.
It looks like they have a new album coming out this year.
Rowland, do you have TG's album, To be an Angel...?
I've not heard this one before, but after sampling some of it on iTunes, it sounds really good. I'm dl'ing now. It sounds morel like part 2 to Last Man to Fly.
"The drone of an industrial-sized printer/scanner/fax/copier combo while I type in a computer lab" - Hewlett-Packard LaserJet.
Wow - Judgement Hour is an awesome song. I'm totally digging To be an Angel...
I can't believe I've never heard this, especially since it was the follow up to Last Man.
High on Fire - "Waste of Tiamat"
Have kinda gone off metal recently, but Death is the Communion one of my faves of the year.
Elephant Talk - King Crimson.
I really like Primus, but they should be ashamed. If you haven't heard Elephant Talk yet, after you do you'll hear what I mean.
Unexpect -- Desert Urbania
Black Star - RE: Definition
I've been on a Mountain Goats binge all day.
All My Friends (John Cale's Version), LCD Soundsystem
This is my favorite version.
