Jake Gyllenhaal Is In Talks To Play Mysterio
I mean they made Vulture work pretty damn well, so I have some faith. But...he's not very intimidating to me. He seems like the pocket sand of Spiderman villains--like it could end up having at least two Scooby-Doo references. And if they just go a more Scarecrow route with horrifying hallucinations and such, it might feel like a retread.
I'm all for Gyllenhaal tho, natch.
Oh shit I didn't hear that!
I don't know about the character, but as long as he brings some of his macabre Nightcrawler intensity with him I'm down with it.
Weirdly, Donald Glover Is Rumored To Be In Line To Play The Villain In BLACK PANTHER 2, even though he already has a character that exists in the Spider-man movie.
Diversity in casting doesn't beat the star system.
Maybe the Prowler will just be the villain? IDK who the Prowler is.

Looks spectacular. Fuckin awful name, tho.
Oh shit thats getting theatrical? Noted.
So the next Spider-man movie is called Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Tom Holland said it yesterday and today Fegie confirmed it.
Surprising that Ant-man is getting a 90% RT score.

Why surprising? The previous one had good scores too, the levity in this installment makes for a fresh change of pace which critics are no doubt welcoming, and last but not least, when was the last time a Marvel movie got bad reviews?
I dunno 90% feels high for this franchise. But I suppose it should come of no surprise.
The reviews sound just right. It's gonna do great.
Marvel knows how to make agreeable movies.
Sometimes, the movies are even good, too.

My mom, who is the last person I would have expected to get into Marvel movies, has gotten into Marvel movies, because she likes RDJ and Cumberbatch and Evans and Hemsworth. It's tiny, but it's not nothing. At least she's interfacing, and she enjoys the movies. She has fun with them. It's not likely to be a springboard to reading comic books for her, but it's one more person buying tickets to superhero movies who wouldn't have before.
How about this one. My mom, who just turned 60, loved Guardians of the Galaxy. Loves Chris Pratt, Drax and the whole dynamic. Kurt Russel is her all-time favorite hunk actor. So when she saw the trailer for the second movie, she called me: "You're getting us tickets to see that right?".
My mom fell asleep watching Ant-Man, and my dad and I spent after-movie-time discussing how confusing the movie's physics/internal logic were.
My mom had one of my favorite reactions to a movie ever. She said she wanted to watch an alien movie, but like a conspiracy one. So I suggested They Live, because it's an alien conspiracy movie. After it was over, she turned to me and said, "You know that was terrible, right?"
Mom, there are many levels and kinds of terrible...and that movie hits most of them.
