Leave it to Duke to leave us completely out in the cold

SMT: Persona has been announced by Atlus USA for a PSP release this Fall. I will be buying a PSP next week.
Anyone know of anything else I need to pick up? I'm planning to get Yggdra Union, Mega Man Powered Up, Crisis Core, Ratchet & Clank, and Patapon for starters.
OMG!11 It's coming out soon!
Jiminy Christmas! 300 clams for a PS3??!?!
I've already been pondering buying a PS3 at some point this year so I can have the trifecta of modern systems.
I was sorely disappointed to find out that not all PS3's are backwards compatible with PS2 games...I really wanted to try these "Persona" games out.
Do you have a PS2 yet, Meg?
If not, I would just buy one of those for now.
There are so many awesome games on that system. Enough games to last for years - and most are cheap as well.
It's over thrown the SNES in my book as best console, due simply to its amazing and diverse library of games.
I hear ya. My PS2 is breaking, and I was hoping that I could replace it at some point with a PS3. But as it looks now, by the time I want to buy one I won't be able to get one that is BC, and so I will probably just buy another PS2, and not get a PS3 for a few years.
Their loss.
:)
Sony had to cut it to cut costs. The PS3 was not emulating the PS2 - there was actually a "PS2" in the PS3 - that is, it was BC based off of hard ware, not software. Most of the XBOX stuff is done using software emulation - that's why it is not 100%.
I'm not sure how Nintendo does it, but the Wii is the first Nintendo system to have BC. The Wii architecture is probably similar enough to the GC that it is all hardware based.
That would make sense, since the Wii seems to be just a very slightly upgraded GameCube.
And on the subject of the Wii, I officially pre-ordered "Mad World".
And I'm 52% through "Metroid Prime 3", and knowing that the end is near is bittersweet. I want to finish the game, but knowing that there probably won't be another in the series really sucks.
Couple hours into Fallout 3. Oblivion meets Road Warrior? Probably been said a million times before...
Sorry. I forgot to post the link(s).

I'm gonna sell my Wii very soon. I've played Resident Evil 4 and espesh Metroid Prime 3 so the time has arrived to acknowledge that it is just gathering dust. I will also sell my PSP.
In other news: Virtual On will be unleashed on XBLA in April! It will be called Cyber Troopers Virtual On Oratorio Tangram Version 5.66
So last night I was playing the arcade mode on SFIV with REQ set on personal match. I fought the same dude multiple times - but not in a row. He kept challenging me over and over again to different matches. Anyhow, he was playing Fei Long, and I was playing the one and only, the man, E. Honda. Every match he would start off by taunting me, and throughout the match he would taunt some more, and every time he taunted me I'd clobber him. When he was actually playing, he was pretty good, but I beat him like 5 times in a row. After our final match he sent me a message saying "UR Cool."
2009 games I'll be buying for the Wii:
MadWorld
Little King's Story
Tales of 10 (if it actually makes it out this year)
Sin & Punishment 2
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (not the one that links to the DS)
Fatal Frame VI
There'll also be the No More Heroes sequel.
Not to try to unconvince you, Morris.
I haven't touched my Wii since I picked up Smash Bros. and I likely won't until the next Mario or Zelda title arrives.
Going through a complete list of Wii games, there are more than enough already out to warrant owning/keeping the system...
Super Mario Galaxy
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
De Blob
Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars
No More Heroes
Boom Blox
Super Paper Mario
SSX Blur
Deadly Creatures
Monster Lab
CoD: World at War
Okami
RE4
Then you look at upcoming games...
MadWorld
The Conduit
Ghostbusters
Dead Space: Extraction
new Mario, Zelda and (possibly) Metroid games
PLUS you have the huge selection of NES, SNES, SEGA and other classic games.
Yeah, it's a system worth having. I'm officially converted.
Don't forget the new Kororinpa.
Not quite. Full emulation through software is all but 100% possible on Sony's machine. Microsoft's BC issues are entirely IP related. PS3 could still see an excellent PS2 in software emulator. And Wii has GC hardware in it.
To meg, there is no way BC is becoming the norm. Nintendo may be able to do it next-gen but Sony and MS wouldn't even dream of it. I don't expect 720 or PS4 to have architectures very similar to the current machines.
