Plenty of pics. I'll post a few here shortly.

This is so crazy. I am simultaneously horrified on their behalf while laughing at them.
Schadenfreude is a complicated thing.
I've been following this and it's been pretty great.
Seriously, I'm trying to tamp down how funny I'm finding the whole situation, because I know that they did run into really serious health and safety issues, but the pictures are still so fucking funny. If it was just the shitty accommodations it'd be a lot easier to enjoy, but wow, the government padlocked them overnight in an airport with people fainting and needing medical attention. Jesus, what a fiasco.
The "luxury food court" was pretty funny too.

I'm currently in an overnight bus to Montenegro. Shitty old tin can with no leg room, completely full all the way, for at least 11 hours. This is just... Ugh.
That Fyre Festival had to be some kind of brilliant scam, right?
Re: the Fyre stuff... finally it can be said unironically.
"Will somebody please.....find Ja Rule, get 'hold of this motherfucker so I can make sense of this!?"
Haha, well done.
Browsing through OKCupid today, looking at matches I haven't followed up on, saw one girl I matched to a while back (over a year ago) but didn't contact. Narrowed my eyes. Woman looked familiar, especially a picture of her with a striped blue/white shirt. Do some clicking, first amused, then sort of worried, then... yep, it's the hiring manager I was planning to get in touch with this week about a job.
This is more awkward than a few weeks back when I thought a certain redhead online looked cute, clicked through, and realized that she's a very-recently-divorced single mother of a friend of a friend.
New plan - maybe don't use OKCupid so much, since the universe is folding in on itself.
The best is when you swipe right and accidently swipe right on someone you know.
Unrelated internet weirdness: haven't thought of a childhood friend for years, Google his name to see how he's doing, boom, sex offender registry.
Wondering what people here familiar with PWR BTTM think about what happened.
(I discovered them this past week. Listening to the newest now. Great timing, right?)
I just went to their concert a couple of months ago. Did something happen?
EDIT: Oh wow that's fucking disappointing.
Doubly disappointing because I remember Ben at the show discouraging the crowd from slam dancing because "We love a good mosh pit, but we don't know a good way to make it consensual yet."
Never heard their music, but the band name sucks and it's a shit ton of publicity.
Right? Still trying to wrap my head around it.
A roundup / discussion just started here: http://www.metafilter.com/166991/The...on-of-PWR-BTTM
Holy shit, metafilter is still around? *goes to check on slashdot*
Do people still buy into the whole "any publicity is good publicity" thing? Because this news has, in the span of one weekend, gotten their current tour dates cancelled, their opening bands cutting ties with them, their label immediately dropping them and refunding/recalling sales of their new album, and all their past music is currently in the process of being pulled from streaming services. It all amounts to a lot of publicity about the band's impending death.
Well, I had no idea who they were and I listened to a couple of songs.
It's absolutely not good publicity, but for me there's been a fair amount of cognitive dissonance because I want to listen to them but only because I've been exposed via this media circus. It'd be like hearing about Cosby for the first time in 2014 and thinking, "Hmm.. I should check out his comedy."
Anyway, I listened today... Great guitar sound.
Y'all read this yet? Alex Tizon's final story, published today, two months after his passing.
