I've got the gaze down, not too many brambles around here though alas.

Nature forced me to shave my head. This has been my "hairstyle" for a year and I love it.
Yeah I've been to-the-skin bald for about 2 years now and I love it.
I'd be lying if I said I don't miss having great, thick hair. But I'm happy bald, too, so all's good.
Sorry about your friend. Pics of your baldness please.
I shaved my head five years ago in support of a friend going through chemo. The weirdest feeling was putting my head on a pillow for the first time. Felt like my head would slide off at any time. Wasn't too much a fan of being bald, and was glad when my hair grew back.
I shave my head every winter for fun.
Up until about a month ago, I shaved my head every other week. Did this for the last 8 or so years.
Right now, I'm growing my hair out a bit. One last hurrah.
I have a belt that I wear regularly. Near the end of 2013, I had to start using the notch above my "normal" notch, which prompted me to start losing weight. Today was the first day I had to use the notch below my usual notch for fear that my trousers would fall down.
I'm in an unusually good mood, too, so I've got that going for me.
So when the movies don't perform as well as they were expected to, the toys often go to discount bins and "graveyard stores"... I found out they also go to other, less fortunate countries. I was surprised to find TRON: Legacy figures in a local toy store today. Since I was/am a huge fan of the film, especially its visual style, I got myself a 12" "Ultimate" Sam Flynn for $23. It's probably the geekiest purchase I've made in years, mostly because all this stuff gets waaay to expensive even if it reaches us at all, and they kill us on customs and shipping if we order online.
I approve of your purchase. :)
So, it's happening for reals. Moving to Eugene, Oregon this fall to pursue an M.A.(and hopefully a PhD, eventually) in East Asian Languages and Literatures, on the Japanese side. Super excited, y'all.
Congrats, man. Make the most of it! Good luck.
がんばって!!
Awesome! Great to hear, Syco.
Is this with a focus on contemporary Japanese language and literatures or more a certain time period?
Awesome. Hope to see y'all from time to time! (I'll be without car, but it looks like an occasional Amtrak might be doable)
Thanks! I hope I'll be in the Detroit/Ann Arbor area at some time in the not too distant future, so hopefully we can meet at some point!
I forgot Spinal was in Portland. Maybe I'll be fortunate enough to see one of his plays!
I'm pretty sure I'll be focusing on contemporary and modern literature (postwar, at least). The program actually encourages both film and literature study. I'm hoping to actually do my research either on popular culture (esp. anime, esp. Gundam) depictions of military in the seventies to eighties or contemporary urban nostalgia in film.
Congrats Sycophant. My little brother just got accepted to go be a teacher's assistant Japan for a year in August, so I might head over there to visit over Christmas.
Damn, Syc, that pretty epicly awesome. Good job, man.
Pennsylvania teen records other students bullying him, gets convicted for wire-tapping.
I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
I just did a Google search on the school's name and found the saner minds appear to have prevailed in the end. That poor kid, though.

Since I'm not having kids, I'm going to make sure that my two nephews have the greatest Lego collection any kid ever had. They've already inherited and love my huge collection of old blocks, and starting next month I'm going to send them each a set in the mail every few months.
I dare you to get them the Super Star Destroyer set.
