I'm still surprised that people take engagement pictures.

But not as surprised as at maternity pictures.

I feel like have more authority, and am in general more together while standing.

Although how I feel is often at odds with reality.

Coindicentally, I work in one of the more active departments of the library and frequently have the option of working sitting or standing. In the six+ months I've been here, the navigation toward almost exclusively standing has been rapid and surprising. I just feel lazy if I'm plopped on a chair.

I mix up standing and sitting.

When I'm drawing floor plans and drawing up contracts, I gotta sit down.

When the way you do it is obscure and most haven't heard of it, yes.

Here's a small album of photos I took with a new mid-range Nikon DSLR that I bought, first one I've ever owned. Got up to see the sunrise this morning and then wandered around. Probably took about 300 shots. Ended up keeping just these 5 after some slight nudging in Photoshop. I figure that ratio is probably standard for people just getting into the hobby, although I've had some other camera experience in the past, including developing my own B&W film in a lab during college. I like this, though.

Very cool. One of these days, I'm going to buy a DSLR. I just bought my husband a Nikon point-and-shoot for an upcoming trip because he needed something with more bells and whistles than his iPhone. However, he'd be overwhelmed by a DSLR. Heck, he's overwhelmed by the P&S.
By the way, which Lowcountry beach is that?

Folly Beach. I like it better than the other beaches around here, personally, though maybe that's just because it's the one I'm most familiar with.

Heh I love how you ignored the obnoxious portion of the post and went straight for the hipster portion.

But to answer your question out of context, of course not.

September was a really busy, over-scheduled, stressful month for me. There was a lot of fun stuff, but basically I was booked or double-booked every singe day and evening. I didn't have time to do any of my normal catch-up stuff and was running on empty by last week. I kept thinking, if I can just get to October I can rest.

Today is my first unscheduled day.


Aaaaaand, here comes the head cold.

I wish I had the ability to stand up for long periods of time. Even in high school I quickly learned I couldn't be in acapella because I couldn't stand for too long, and I know about the whole bended knee thing, I just get way too light headed to do so. Low blood pressure plus terrible muscles doesn't allow me to stand for long periods unless I'm actually in a state of activity.

I've been doing about 60:40 (standing:sitting), and when I stand I move around a lot.

If only witchy baked goods could be shipped out of Oregon...

lol apparently that Naomi Watts Princess Diana biopic installed the poster at the entrance of the Paris tunnel where she died and they finally took it down today.
